“look back in time”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 11, 2013

whether it's sanctuary from the sun, or the rain, or just to pass away an hour, this is a great place to visit, free to go in, volunteers on hand to answer queries, I just love to see old artefacts and look at old photos

“Free-Can't be good, BUT IT IS”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 1, 2013 via mobile

Meander through the lovely old streets down to the harbour and as other reviewers have said, there is an old gem tucked in the corner. Great way to learn about the history of the place and hear things from people who have experienced them. It is a bit out of date but that is the beauty of it. Well worth the visit

“Old fashioned in a good way”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 31, 2013 via mobile

I had read the reviews on Trip Advisor so when we walked past, decided to pop in. Stayed for nearly an hour (which with a 3 and 5 year old is pretty impressive). All very dated but really interesting and the fact that it's free helps you understand that it's there because people care. Do call in

“A gem of a museum and with FREE admission!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 31, 2013

Found the museum tucked away at the end of the harbour. It is an Aladdin's Cave of local history and very well set out and informative. Covers three floors and there is much to see. Admission is free, but please do give a donation as it is well-worth a visit and needs to be maintained for future visitors. Can thoroughly recommend this museum.
