“Absolutely amazing!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 15, 2012

We had a totally fantastic break with our 2 little ones aged 3 and 1. Such a beautiful place we all felt totally relaxed instantly. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff who made us feel like we were at home. Normally after a few days away we are ready to go home but after this break we didn't want to leave.

Room Tip: We stayed in a Villa suite with amazing views and close to the play ground.

What a lovely review, thank you very much. It’s so nice to know that you had a relaxing time at the hotel and that you felt at home. That’s what we try to achieve, relaxed and informal service for adults and families that makes you feel like your amongst friends whilst still offering all the standards you would expect in a 4 star hotel so it’s great to know that we got that right. I hope it’s not too long before we can welcome you back again.
With my best wishes

Booked a last min week away following a bereavement. From the first day, nothing was too much trouble. Staff were friendly and helpful. The room was great, clean and spacious. Lovely food in the Wild cafe ( belly pork to die for?!)
Kids had a ball and no one seemed to mind that they were feral for the week. Felt like home from home. Exactly what we needed. Thank you Bedruthin.

Thanks for your review, I am really re-assured to know that in some difficult times for you as a family we were able to offer a place where you could relax and enjoy some down time. We are passionate about our service and we always strive to make our guests feel at home whilst offering some 4 stars luxuries and most importantly someone else to do the washing up! I will make sure that your kind comments about the team are fed back to them as we really can’t deliver The Bedruthan experience without them! I hope that we can welcome you back to the hotel soon.

Am feeling thoroughly depressed today having left Bedruthan hotel and spa yesterday after one of the best weekends away ever! The service was second to none, informal yet attentive. We had lunch at the wild cafe when we arrived on Friday.......what a fantastic start that was to our break! Friday evening we ate one of the best 3 course meals either of us have had in the Herring restaurant. Every course was simply stunning. The wine recommendation was spot on and the service perfect! Spa........relaxing, breakfast........beautiful, especially loved the homemade granola! The view from our room inspired an early pre-breakfast walk on the beach to watch the sunrise. We left full of good food and super relaxed! We cannot wait to come back! Thank you Bedruthan Hotal for such a special break away!

What a lovely review, we are so pleased that we could be part of ‘one of your best weekend’s ever’, that means a lot to us. We all work really hard to make sure that our team feel part of the Bedruthan family as we believe that is the only way to deliver such friendly and welcoming service, I know they will all be really pleased to know what effect they had on delivering a relaxing weekend for you. We are so lucky with where we are, it means that we can really make the most of views and the wonderful beach of Mawgan Porth and with the later mornings in the autumn and winter you can see the sunset without having to be up too early!. We look forward to welcoming you back soon.

Visited Bedruthan with grandchildren during October half term and had a lovely time. HOtel is very well orientated for children with great facilities. We were exceptionally lucky with the weather which helps enormously. Staff were very attentive and accommodating. Food was brilliant - really good, well presented, inventive dishes. I would highly recommend.

Room Tip: Spend a bit more and get a sea view room, really spectacular.

Thank you for your review, I am so pleased to hear that you had a nice time at the hotel with your grandchildren. We try really hard to balance the facilities so that we can offer a relaxing time for all generations, the kids can run around and explore all the play areas while the adults can relax in the Tranquillity lounge and hydro spa watching the waves rolling in! Our team are so important in making sure that our guests have a great time so it’s really great to hear that you enjoyed their service, I’ll make sure they know about your feedback. We look forward to welcoming you back to the hotel soon.

We spent 6 weeks travelling around the UK & Ireland as part of a much-needed family holiday (and with a 27-hour flight back home to Australia impending, some relaxation was desperately needed!). Our week we spent at Bedruthan was the highlight of the trip! We arrived a little stressed, a little tired, a little edgy with a 5year old chirping in the background "I'm hungry, I'm bored, I've got nothing to do" but from the moment we walked through the doors it was as if a heavy weight lifted from our shoulders - with a warm, relaxed, inviting and divinely contemporary (with a touch of kookiness) environment which immediately put us at ease and excited about what lay beneath the layers of this extraordinary hotel.
Mum was happy with the range of spa treatments, Dad was happy with the adults-only chill-out room, said 5-year old was ecstatic with the huge array of childrens activities and we all loved the fact that we could enjoy some family time together, have a laugh, make some noise, really let go and enjoy ourselves both indoors and out knowing that we were surrounded by other families all wanting to do the same and that there would be no 'tut-tuts' from other guests or staff if we raced each other to the Jungle Tumble!
We were made to feel at home by the staff in all areas of the hotel. The team had an array of activities organised which we could participate in, watch from the sidelines or not feel pressured to be involved with at all. We LOVED the meals set-up, especially for dinner, allowing us to eat as a family (which our little one loved as she could get dressed-up in her favourite Princess dress!) or for our little one to enjoy a delicious healthy meal amongst laughter & chat about the day at kids meal time before heading off to bed soon after when Mum & Dad put on the staff manned child monitoring system and enjoyed a couple of hours together over dinner knowing everything was in hand. What a great set-up!
We have to give special mention to the apartments! This was absolutely sensational - the views, the space, the fact we had our own room (prior to that the 3 of us had all been staying mostly in the same room as we travelled around) - the apartment was ideal, we felt right at home and especially for a stay anything over 3 days we would highly recommend it!
I have to say, the hotel's sustainable ethos is also to be highly commended. It will have such a huge impact on helping to save the beautiful local environment which they are obviously so proud to be a part of, but they do it in a way so it is not obtrusive or make you feel guilt-ridden, just delightful ideas & products in a fun, informative & enjoyable way - well done Bedruthan, small & simple ideas that enhanced our stay.
Next time we visit we will need to stay for 2 weeks though! With so much happening and available at Bedruthan and on the gorgeous Mawgan Porth beach (which is literally just a short stroll down the hill) we didnt get a chance to see much else of the surrounding area or tourist venues - but then again we couldnt think of a better place to get caught up in - this was one family holiday to remember!

Room Tip: the apartments are great if you have a family and want to enjoy some comfort on your holiday with se...

Thanks for your review, what a special thing to able to say that we were the highlight of your family trip to the UK and Ireland. It sounds like you were able to make full use of the facilities that we have at the hotel and that you were able to benefit from the balance we have between family fun and adult relaxation. It’s really hard work being mummy and daddy all the time so we try to make sure there is enough space in the hotel and time in the day for some together time that allows you to relax and kick back to be adults once again. Our team are really important to us and we can’t deliver our Bedruthan experience without them so thank you for recognising them, it’s really great to hear that they made you feel at home, it’s what we strive for. I’m glad that the accommodation and dining options worked for you, we have a whole range of different room types available so we are lucky enough to be able to cater for most family’s needs and our new flexible dining means that you can eat when you want to in either of our 2 restaurants and you can choose whether that is as family or as adults separately in the evening with the children enjoying high tea. We look forward to being able to part of the family fun on your next visit.
With my best wishes

We spent a week of the October half term here in what they call an apartment (2 bedrooms and a sitting room) with our 5 year old and our 18months old and had a great time. Fab outdoor stuff (mini assault course, trampoline, zipwire, etc) and if it's wet then inside there's a jungle gym and swimming pool to keep the kids entertained. My husband and I booked into the spa (make sure you book as soon as you get there if you want to get a spot).

The food was also excellent with plenty of variety. The kids dinner was always good and what I think of as "proper food". We preferred to eat without the kids in the evening at the Herring and made the most of the babylistening service although we also had our evening meal delivered to the room three times.

The evening kids entertainment was also generally excellent and finished at 7pm. The kids club was also good. In the future with older children I can see that it would be useful to have some supervised activities after 7pm.

Also must mention the beach which was fantastic and only 10 minutes walk away (it looks further). Next year we will do what we saw another family do and bring a garden spade for some proper digging! Tons of stuff to do within a half hour drive as well (camel trail cycle, Eden project etc)

We'll be back!

Thank you for your review I’m so pleased that you had a nice time at the hotel and enjoyed it as much as your first visit. Our new dining facilities make it real easy to be flexible about how you eat so that you can enjoy some adult only dinners in either of our restaurants or dine as family or even have room service. That’s what we wanted to create so it’s great to see it working for you. It’s so true about our lactation, it’s really central so you can explore most of Cornwall from here without feeling that you are spending too long in a car and not enough time having fun! We look forward to welcoming you back to the hotel soon.
With my best wishes

We spent 3 nights here over half term with our 2 and a half year old and had a great time. We loved the accommodation with the dividing screen between us and our daughter in the room, and amazing sea views. Some of the furniture was a little stained and could have done with a refresh but overall good. The setting is stunning with fantastic views.
The hotel was perfect for us as we had lots of family time (indoor pool, soft play, children's early evening entertainment) as well as adult time (gym, spa, adult-only quiet room) while our daughter had a fantastic time in the children's club one morning. The food was also great- the wild cafe was great for delicious breakfast, and children's tea, and we ate in the Herring every night while using the baby listening.
Overall we had a great time and will definitely be returning.

You have really captured the whole experience in this review and thank you very much for posting it. I am delighted to hear that you enjoyed your stay and that you will be coming back again. We are so lucky with our location that it means you can have floor to ceiling views of the Atlantic rolling in which is great for mums and dads but this is mixed with a huge range of children’s facilities for them to have ball too. We work hard on getting the balance right for adults and children, we feel that we have something for everyone and we can give adults a truly grown up and relaxing break whilst the children make childhood memories so it great to know that we have got that right and you were able to experience this. We look forward to being able to welcome you on your next visit.
