“Lovely sprawling farmhouse but cosy too!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 24, 2010

We were a group of 4 families with children ranging from age 1 - 16 and fitted into this lovely farmhouse no bother. Enough space for everyone to chill out in different areas, fabulous kitchen/dining area and plenty room to have a dance in the kitchen! Nice garden and we were fairly lucky weatherwise and able to sit out which we didn't expect in October. Surrounding walks along beach and coast were spectacular and great for our little dog too, fabulous dog walks and plenty space for her in the kitchen area. All facilities we required were as expected and any problems were sorted out very promptly. Children loved the resident pig "Bubbles", he was very well fed while we were there. Would definitely recommend this for a large group holiday.

We took our 2 girls aged 5 and 3 here for half term and had a fabulous week. We stayed in hayloft, one of the converted barns. It was spotlessly clean, and the decor had been really well thought about - leather sofas, flagstone floor - all really easy to clean and very tasteful. The porchway was brilliant for keeping muddy wellies out of the house too. As soon as we got there the girls ran off to the play area which was really safe and self contained and great for a range of ages - we felt happy for them to be there on there own for short periods as the cottage was so close. Swimming pool was a huge hit and we were in most days. Girls loved feeding the animals and collecting the eggs. They encourage you to recycle everything and make this very easy which was great - I often end up feeling guilty on holiday as I don't know how the recycling systems work and am too lazy to find out! The pub opposite serves great food and the children were really welcome during the day and evening.
The area itself is beautiful - so many outstanding beaches really close by and we found some lovely pubs and cafes.
Although I think it was fully booked when we went it didn't feel like there were loads of other people around. We are planning to come back and would wholeheartedly recommend it to others - I can honestly say it is one of the best holidays we've been on and we came home actually feeling like we'd had a break.

We used to stay at court farm quite a lot some years ago. Returned this month with two small children for weekend break . Found much updated and refurbished cottages with nice mix of period character and mod cons (we stayed in honeysuckle) and perfect facilities for toddlers & small children. Things the kids particularly liked:
- heated pool
- large outdoor play area with vast quantity of different toys
- farm animals
- toybox in our cottage

Other things I was impressed with:
- gas barbeque in our garden with loads of gas
- woodburning stove and a large woodstore with kindling as well as logs
- kitchen full of decent crockery, pans, glasses etc

Marhamchurch is a nice spot, with village pub and in easy reach of bude beaches. We'll be heading back to court farm in knowledge that we can turn up late on friday without having to bring masses of stuff and know that there will be plenty to do whatever the weather.

I stayed in Northcott Farmhouse (part of Courtfarm Holidays) for my 30th with a large group of friends. Luckily the weather was bright and sunny for October but the house was perfect for our needs - A decent size, plenty to do and our very own pig.

It's only a short walk from the beach, where we spent most of Saturday and yet remote enough to feel like we truly got away from it all.

Everyone had an amazing time, so thanks again for having us!

James

We have just returned from a 1 week stay with Court Farm Holidays. We stayed in the Wheelwright Cottage and found it very comfortable and well equipped with touches of a traditional cornish cottage. There is a secure and private garden for your dogs/kids. The cottage had flat screen TV's, free internet access, fully equipped kitchen, log burner with wood provided, and a very comfortable bed.

The cottages are in the quaint and quiet village of Marhamchurch, there is pub across the road that serves nice meals, the village shop has now closed but Bude is only 1.5 miles away and Asda and Waitrose deliver to the cottages, we arranged a food delivery that arrived 30 minutes after us and was much appreciated after a long drive.

The hosts were very welcoming, helpful and friendly from first email contact to waving us off on departure. We only used the pool once as we were out and about every day as the weather was glorious for October, the pool was as warm as bathwater and a delight to use. We didn't use the games room/treatment room or see the animals so I cannot comment on those but would like to next time. Widemouth Bay beach was only 2.5 miles away and was our favourite beach to walk the dogs on. We found the cottage very central to access Cornwall with the A39 being about 1 mile away.

Highly recommended!!

We had a week in the Granary with our two kids (3yrs, and 9 months) and had a fantastic time. Also staying with us were the grandparents and aunties. Despite the big group we all fitted into the accomodation with no problem and not only did we all go home at the end of the week without killing each other but we also had a great time! For our kids the indoor swimming pool was great as well as the really nice outdoor play area. Feeding the farm animals was also a great experience for the kids, the pigs were a definate favourite! Try to get there early to catch them still asleep in their pig house. In summary, everything is really well set up for families and the opportunity to hire a pushchair at very reasonable rate really made a difference to what we could fit in the car. Thanks for a great stay.

I booked Northcott Farmhouse for the weekend through Court Farm Holidays, for a group of 15 friends. We had a brilliant weekend party, did some surfing, went to pub, but the best thing about it was the house. It was really comfortable, brilliant layout for a party, massive kitchen with Aga, ideal for sitting round catching up. Plenty to do around there as well so I would recommend it very highly. The company is very friendly as well.
