“Cosy family pub lunch”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 2, 2012

We popped into the Royal Oak yesterday for lunch. We chose the baguettes which were amazing - made with artisan bread and served with homemade chips and beautiful salad. At £6.95 each they were great value. Will definitely go backnext time we're in Lostwithiel.

“Great again”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 20, 2012 via mobile

Been here quite a few times, always very good food and service and dog friendly. Good selection of meals and specials. They never rush you. A must to try.

“Good quality pub food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 18, 2012

We stayed in holiday accommodation less than 100 yards from The Royal Oak and so gave it a try for an evening meal. We had a warm welcome as soon as we arrived were given a table immediately. The service was very efficient and the food was very good. Looking at the menu I would describe the restaurant as providing very good quality pub food in a comfortable and informal atmosphere. We would visit again.

“Great food!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 7, 2012 via mobile

Just had another great meal. Simon the head chef keeps coming up with more and more new and innovative dishes. Last night had the stew with herb dumplings; not had a dumpling for years. It was terrific!! Atmosphere and service was excellent too, will return again. You should try it! Mark, Millie & Frances

“Yummy mussels”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 6, 2012

Quality with very fresh food used. The menu changes daily with whats in season. The mussels in a cider and bacon sauce were amazing. I have never tasted such tasty and fresh mussels like these. Main courses cost between £10.00-£16.00

Thank you for taking the time to post a review on trip advisor. We are lucky to live in an area where there is an abundance of really good fresh, local food - your mussels came from the Fowey river which runs through our town!
