“So good I went twice!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 26, 2014

Stayed there for 2 nights, loved the food here I went the next day. Suprisingly the place was quite empty for the standard of food served. Hopefully the locals are supporting it more now as its good food

“Somewhat hidden away but very well worth a visit”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 4, 2014

We regret not having discovered Asquith's before and will now make up for it.
Truly excellent cooking. Friendly competent staff. Clean white table linen on well spaced tables.
Slightly limited wine list but very fair prices.
Definitely a cut above.

“Highly Recommended”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 14, 2014

A fantastic fine dining experience. Attentive and knowledgeable staff and excellent food from a very talented chef. At very reasonable prices, too. Highly recommend for a real treat.

“Fantastic food and excellent value - a must if you're in the area”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 19, 2014

I cannot understand how this restaurant is quieter than Trewithen round the corner. Although both are good value Asquiths is far superior in terms of quality food.
Yes, the menu is smaller and may put some people off but everything is amazing and not far off some of the michelin star restaurants we have visited but for a fraction of the price.
We visited Asquiths on Tuesday 16th Sept and it was quite quiet but the food was fresh and imaginative. We chose things we might not normally have eaten but so pleased we did as everything was amazing.
Because of the trip adviser ratings we also visited Trewithen a few days later but although the food was ok, the veg was reheated from frozen and most food was not made freshly but prepared in advance and reheated. There was one chef serving up for a full restaurant but he wasn't having to cook much at all but simply serve it up after it was re-cooked. When you look at the menu you can actually see how this is possible.
I urge locals and visitors to also support Asquiths as the chef clearly has a talent and works hard to send out great food. It is such a shame to see it quieter than Trewithen when the food is far superior.
