“Very Relaxing Time”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 25, 2014

We stayed in Lakeview 4, with 3 children aged 12, 10 and 5 (plus a dog). It had lovely views of the Lake, and we had some lovely relaxing sitting out there in the April sunshine with a cuppa (and odd glass of wine) having some quality family time together.

We had a great time with the kids and the dog exploring the forest behind and had some lovely day trips out in the surrounding area.

We enjoyed our meal at the pub over the road in the holiday village, where they had a good range of food and a great kids menu.

5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 3, 2014

Myself, my Husband and our two children aged 12 and 9 stayed for one week in Lakeview 4 during August 2013. Prior to arrival we had some (probably stupid) questions about the accomodation and Alex was incredibly friendly, patient and went out of her way to email us some photograhs of the Lakeview 4 to help us make a decision as to which property to choose. Thank you Alex, you're a star! Rosecraddoc Manor is off the beaten track, so to speak but all the better for it in my opinion!! The entire place "wowed" us the second we pulled into the rather grand driveway and we absolutely loved the two storey Lakeview property. The property had a large reception room with a huge dining table and sideboard, an equally huge, really well appointed kitchen (proper mugs, lovely dinner service, dishwasher, washing machine, great fridge freezer) with a breakfast bar (but only 3 stools!), a double and a twin bedroom and a family bathroom on the ground floor and a cosy and well decorated, super-comfortable lounge room with a balcony, a lovely bedroom, a gorgeous bathroom and the slightly unusual addition of a sauna (which we didn't use) and the whole place was really clean. My husband and I would have loved to have slept in the upstairs bedroom, but the children didn't feel comfortable downstairs alone (new environment), so we took the double next to their room instead. For some reason, these two bedrooms and the bathroom didn't quite match the "luxury" of the upstairs bedroom and bathroom - they were still nice and very clean, but there was definitely a contrast which is a bit of a shame. The setting is stunning, we loved having breakfast on the balcony over looking the hills and woods and dinner at the picnic table outside our property too. We also ate at the onsite restaurant "The Village Inn" a couple of times and the food and service was great (my daughter ate almost her weight in the ribs - twice!). The lake is lovely, peaceful and very popular with fishermen. We didn't fish but as we walked back from the onsite restaurant one evening, one of the fishermen landed a huge fish and was very happy to show it to the children. My daughter fell in love with the little black rabbit who was always somewhere around in the grounds and by the end of the week she had it eating carrots from her hand while she stroked it and she was most upset to have to say goodbye to it. We all really enjoyed exploring the grounds and were treated to being "sung" to sleep by an owl on three nights. We also took some cheap tennis equipment and used the court every day, the children absolutely loved this too. Ron the friendly site manager was always around with his two dogs, mowing and generally keeping the place pretty! Rosecraddoc Manor is a great base for visiting some really lovely places with Looe and beautiful Polperro around a 20 minute drive. We visited The Eden Project and the Lost Gardens of Heligan, both took about an hour to get to and were well worth the visit and we also visited The National Marine Aquarium at Plymouth (40ish minutes) and that was fab too! We didn't go into Liskeard, however there is a large Morrisons within a 5 minute drive which we used a lot. All in all we had the best holiday ever and Rosecraddoc Manor was by far the nicest place we've ever stayed. We will definitely, definitely return in the future and have recommended it to everyone!

Thank you so much for your lovely, detailed review of your stay with us in August. We are so pleased to hear what a memorable stay you had at Rosecraddoc. Thank you for letting us know about the missing stool in the kitchen and for your comments relating the ground floor accommodation which we take on board. We do hope we have the opportunity to welcome you back in the future.

Alex and Clive
P.S. Please let your daughter know that the little black rabbit is still doing well!

We have just returned from our second visit and we were not disappointed. We stayed in Lakeview 2 which was superb luxury accommodation over two floors with fantastic views over the beautiful lake and countryside beyond. We ate in the on site pub/restaurant twice which was excellent with a lovely choice of food and warm welcome. We very rarely go back to the same place twice but we will be looking at booking a third visit!

We arrived at Rosecraddoc after a long and tiring journey from Essex at about 1am on a Friday night / Saturday Morning - we were both tired and did not know what to expect as we usually book private cottages & not those as part of a leisure complex
Our arrival was in the dark and after finding our keys in the reception area,we were pleasantly surprised to find out that we had been upgraded from a 1 bed cottage "Liam" to a lake view villa ( no 4 ) . Not only was the villa spacious and clean but also had the added bonus of a sauna within the en-suite bathroom upstairs and a jacuzzi bath in the second bathroom downstairs - a great surprise :)) The grounds / lake /manor views in the daylight were breath taking and provided a great backdrop to the villa & its surrounds which are great for walks / photo's.
The site manager Ron was über friendly and knowledgable regarding local attractions & places to eat in and around the area .A great ambassador for the place and nothing was too much trouble .
We would definitely return to this relaxing little gem in the future and had a fantastic week there.

Wow!! That was the first word I said coming up the driveway. My wife and I stayed in the Heron which was a lovely studio in the Manor. It was nice and cosy with own kitchen and bathroom, which was perfect for the two of us. The room had all the comfort of a home and all the usual appliances and utensils for a self catering holiday, only taking our own bath towels.
The grounds are gorgeous and very peaceful, which was lovely for the beautiful weather we had at the end of august to just laze by the lake.
The Manor is well located for visiting most places in Cornwall....we visited Looe, Polperro, Falmouth, Bodmin, Port Isaac, Tintagel and Boscastle.
There is the pub and restaurant across the lane which opens from 6pm to 11pm and does lovely food and nice for a couple of beers, but I enjoyed getting back to the Manor and watching the sunset....Beautiful.
A big thankyou to Clive, Alex, Ron and his wife for a fantastic stay.

We booked this up at the last minute and whilst overall reviews for Rosecraddoc Manor are good none of them mention the individual cottages. Carpenters is a one bedroom cottage which size wise is perfect for 2 people. The issue is that the property smells damp, the bedroom windows have black mould on them and the bathroom is very run down. On the overall property spec bathrooms are stated as having either a jacuzzi or sauna, this one had neither (we were not to worried about this) however there was clearly a reason why no photos show the bathroom it is so old & dated! The kitchen had good amenities and it was clean throughout. (I had bleached the bathroom & kitchen before use).
The propertys location is ideal as central to all areas to be able to go out & visit. The grounds are very picturesque and are well worth a walk round. I'm sure the other rentals are nice and worthy of the reviews however Carpenters for us was very disappointing.

Thank you for taking the time to review your recent stay with us and we will take on board your comments raised. We will endeavour to rectify the points that you make as it is only through guest feedback that we can continue to make improvements. Most of the reviews here are for specific properties not just generic for the site.

It is a shame that you did not take the opportunity to raise these concerns either during your stay or upon departure to our managers who live onsite and would of done their upmost to assist you for example:- a move to an alternative property. We are only able to rectify problems once we are made aware of them.

We are pleased to hear you enjoyed the central location of Rosecraddoc and the grounds of the Manor. We are sorry that Carpenters disappointed you and if we have the chance to welcome you again, please do contact us direct on alex@rosecraddocholidays.co.uk

I have tried many different places in Cornwall, where the photos of the place look amazing yet you get there and are disappointed, however for the first time in Cornwall, this didn't happen!

The Manor is a complex of cottages and houses varying in price according to the number of bedrooms one needs.

The complex is situated in a very green and leafy woodland, with a lovely lake being in the middle of the complex where one can fish, or play a game of tennis in the courtyard.

I stayed in the 'Liam' cottage and getting there was very easy. The directions given were clear and concise, while the Manor was clearly sign posted.

Upon arrival, the reception was closed (as we got there late at night) however our keys were easy to pick up from the arrival box.

The cottage was lovely. Very traditional in the sense of being a stone cottage, with wooden beams and slats that can be used to close the windows from the sun.

Despite being an old cottage, all the modern cons were there: a large-screen TV, many heaters, a new kitchen with a washing machine and also a new bathroom with shower and bath.

The owners have truly thought about everything since the welcome pack contained information such as the nearest shops, banks, and places of interest to view.

The only down-side for me was the lack of phone signal. If you went outside you could get one, however not inside the cottage.

The Manor's restaurant is outside of the complex and on another site that does have WIfI, so if you need access to a computer on your holiday then perhaps this isn't the place for you!

The woodlands were lovely and having them right next to where you were staying was amazing.

The owners and staff were all very friendly and helpful, a shame that such friendliness isn't everywhere in England!

Payment of the electricity metre is done at the end of your stay and is asked to be paid in cash. A weeks worth of using the washing machine / tumble dryer, heaters and television came to around £15 which isn't too bad.

Overall, great value for money and I will definitely be back!
