“A great little value for money hotel!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 21, 2013

Whilst my husband has stayed at a Premier Inn before, I never have, and from the website photos, I was not expecting much from this hotel when he booked it, however from the first moment we arrived I was pleasantly surprised! The team leader at reception when we checked in couldn't have been more friendly or polite, and was only too happy to assist us with directions to places we needed to get to.

Our room was very clean and comfortable and quite spacious for a budget style hotel such as this one. We found that our bed only had a doona (duvet) on it - no top sheet, which made it very hot to sleep under, but yet too cold to sleep without something over you. When we informed the reception staff of this the next morning they promptly provided a top sheet for us to put on which resolved the matter.

We had dinner in the adjacent tavern, and shared a meal (curried chicken with naan bread) and also a dessert (trio of ice cream). This made for a very cheap meal, and the serving sizes meant that we were both full from our portion, The tavern is also the site for breakfast each morning, and we were very happy with the Continental selection - certainly more choice than recent 5 star hotels we have stayed in!

We had a room that overlooked the carpark and it was nice and quiet. You can unlock your windows slightly with your room key, and I would advise doing this to allow some fresh air into your room of a night.

Overall, I found this hotel to be of a very high standard for a budget type motel chain. If this is the standard of accommodation in all Premier Inn motels, then I would be only too happy to stay in them again! If we were visiting Liskeard again, then we would most definitely stay in this Premier Inn!

Room Tip: Ask to have a room overlooking the car park as it's nice and quiet.

Booked well in advance for a stay for work, and thus got a great rate - under £35 room only. The room was clean and comfortable, and the window well insulated from noise - this was helped by being on the side of the building overlooking the car park rather than the A38 - try to request this if a quiet night matters to you. Food in the adjacent Table Table restaurant, though clearly Brakes or similar, appeared fresh, was hot and tasty, and came in decent sized portions. Breakfast was good, with the cooked choices all cooked fresh to order, rather than provided buffet style, and was much the better for it. Great for easy access to this part of Cornwall, for work or leisure.

Usual Premier Inn situated off theA38. Easy to find. Restaurant facilities adjacent to hotel though breakfast not up to the usual standard. For what you pay, great for one night. Usual good nights sleep and guarantee of that or your money back

9 of us arrived after a 7 hour journey to find our rooms had been cancelled! Our original booking had been made for 5 rooms for 2 nights about 8 months in advance. One room had to be cancelled and despite checking twice that the remaining rooms were still booked, the whole lot got cancelled.......and the hotel was full for the first night of our stay!
This is the sort of situation where companies can really stand out from the crowd. After ringing round and finding no vacancies in the other nearby Premier Inns the staff started calling local B&Bs and found us places to stay for the first night. They then rebooked us all for the following night in the Premier Inn and waived all the charges. Whilst we are still fed up that the booking got messed up, the attitude and attentiveness of the staff and their willingness to put things right has left us feeling that they really do care about their guests and I congratulate the team on the professional way they handled a very difficult situation.
The Premier Inn lived up to the very good standards of comfort and cleanliness you expect from this value for money chain.

We had six nights in March at this Premier Inn and despite very cold and sometimes very wet/windy weather we really enjoyed our stay. The setting is more about convenience than anything... very near Morrison's grocery and Petrol... just a short drive to many National Trust and English Heritage sights (we visited and enjoyed Lanhydrock, Cotehele, Bostcastle, Bude and Tintagel...and family in Plymouth. The hotel and Table Table restaurant staff were friendly and helpful. We felt we had really good value for money with both the hotel and restaurant. Everything was clean and comfortable and service and food were both very good. There was plenty of outdoor seating for when the weather cooperates.

Room Tip: We were given a family room... that had the setee, I think it was room 46 on the front side of the h...

We have stayed in Premier inn's before so knew what we would be getting for the price. As expected the room had everything needed, tea, coffee, towels, hair dryer. The rooms was clean and tidy as was the bathroom. The bed was comfy and the linen was clean and fresh. All staff were happy, polite, friendly and professional. We were in a room on the car park side so had no road noise. We had no problems on our two night stay. Once again a happy stay at premier inn, if we are ever going to Cornwall again we know where to stay! Morrisons just around the corner along with a Homebase and pets at home and some other shops. Liskeard is very close to Looe and other popular tourist attractions.

The on site pub does a wide variety of food and drink, if you haven't had it before try 'Tribute', it's lush! Also they have amazing burgers and if you do have the breakfast it's also great and with a wide choice of things to have.
