We had a wonderful meal in this very pretty country pub about 18 months ago and it was very good. We must have caught them on a bad day on our recent visit. Our table was booked for 12.30 for a party of 3 people. We were given a warm welcome and was really looking forward to a nice Sunday lunch before leaving Cornwall. Sadly it was very disappointing. The food seemed to travel a long way from the kitchen and wasn't very hot. My beef was OK, but my partner's lamb was awful, sort of fatty and pink and not at all appetising. The red cabbage was tasty and the other veg was reasonable. The Yorkshire puds were soggy. This was a such a shame as when we went before the pub was recommended by the Telegraph.
