“Loved it!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 28, 2014

Just a short drive from Mullion where we were staring we called in for a steak dinner and was not dissapointed!

Nice helpful staff fast service and the food was very nice. The kids portions were large and very well priced.

Our steak was cooked to perfection and the peppercorn sauce was divine. We didn't have dessert this time as we didn't have room due to such great portions. Looking forward to returning later this week for another evening meal.

If you are staying at Parkdean Mullion do yourself a favour, forget the on site over priced Kayance bar and grill, get in the car, turn right and about 2 miles down the road on your right is this good old English pub which is small, comfortable and relaxing with great staff food and atmosphere. Do it, you won't be dissapointed!

“Forget the previous review-DO bother!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 5, 2014

We wondered about this place having seen variable T.A.reviews but it was so near to our B and B that we thought we must try it. And I'm very glad we did!
It's not posh-in parts it's a bit tatty, and gourmet cuisine it does not provide! BUT,if you're looking for somewhere to provide good honest pub grub with plenty of variety that you can use for several nights during a holiday -we went 5 nights out of 11- it's just the job. It's very reasonably priced, and Frank the landlord is most obliging and friendly, and his young staff know what they're about as well.
The previous gripe about the loos?
Apparently some moron put a disposable nappy down the pan and blocked things up,all in the middle of a very busy food service during the evening.Don't worry about them now-they're not palatial but perfectly adequate;the ladies as well, according to madam!
All power to you,Frank-and thanks a lot!

I know this pub very well and it isn't too far to drive to from Mullion. Had a very nice meal there.

“What a diamond in middle of nowhere!!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 19, 2014

Had driven past The Wheel several times during our stay at The Lizard and decided to stop in on our way back one evening. As per previous comments, the pub has a somewhat dated old pub look, but don't be fooled!! Pleasant welcome from the landlord, good range of 'standard' beers and lagers plus local cask.
We both went through the good looking menu, but plumped for the £12.95 fillet steak with chips, peas and salad, the wife's medium and mine medium to well done, not sure what to expect and were stunned by how perfect the steaks were!! I spoke to landlord about how good they were and he was happy, but possibly a little embarrassed, to receive the compliment.
Keep up the excellent work.
