“Another great speciality evening”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 22, 2013

Another amazing speciality evening, French this time! The new chef continued with the excellent standard of food and Nigel from Wine from Cornwall supplied all of the supporting wines offerred. The fish course was my favourite but everything was very tasty. Can't wait for the next one! I think the offering for the May event is Far Eastern - should be interesting. I would recommend this for anyone looking for a good evening out, I think this was our fifth speciality evening. We went with a group of friends this time rather than just as a couple and they all said that they will be coming back as well!

“Top quality for food, accommodation, friendliness & peace & quiet!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 22, 2013

We visited for the first time on a French theme night with friends who have been before. As it was 5 courses with 5 different wines we booked a room in advance even though we only live half an hour away! The meal and service was excellent. The pub had a roaring log fire going and every table was occupied giving a great atmosphere. I had to resist my favourite real ales in view of the flowing wine! There are only three bedrooms but ours was superb. We are in our 60's, fussy and used to very good quality. The room was spotless and beautifully furnished to better than 4 star quality. The pillows were so good we are ordering the same from John Lewis ( all the bedding came from there). The en-suite was excellent with a lovely large shower cubicle and thick fluffy towels. Free wi-Fi and even an IPod docking station on the clock radio!
Had an excellent nights sleep, the first noise we heard in the morning was a horse going past! We then just about managed a full Cornish fry up before heading off to collect the dog.
We can't say enough about this pub. We will certainly be back regularly. It's a very peaceful part of the Lizard peninsula only a couple of miles from the Helford river, Frenchmans Creek and the little fishing ports. We have already recommended it to the kids and grand kids who would love the small camp site and it will be great for new dog walking areas followed a meal at the pub!

Nice meal in a nice pub but consider the ship inn in mawgan for really good food! This is average in comparison .

“Hidden gem on the Lizard”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 13, 2013 via mobile

Came here since the Ship Inn was fully booked and we were not disappointed. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the food was excellent. Would definitely return next time we visit the area. We enjoyed a lovely meal together as a family. It was the last night of our holiday which was well spent at the Prince of Wales.
