“Spoiled by cat and loud music!!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed December 17, 2012

We had a Saturday/Sunday weekend mid December 2012. Great staff in the hotel proven by their telephone call advising we book early for the restaurant due the Christmas party bookings. We didn't eat there for that reason for one night!! Generally very helpful and thoughtful staff, a nice building, good secure parking and best of all, QUIET. Rooms are well presented and well decorated. Pity there are no phones and tea bags are not replenished on the second day. Cannot say the same for the restaurant in the adjacent Table/Table, The May Tree. Sunday morning was reasonable, with plenty of staff, quick reception to table and good smooth service. A rather too boisterous Santa was there for the kids, but did not gel with 'the morning after the night before' with some slightly older 'children'. 10 out of 10 for effort and originality though. Monday was totally different and more like normal I suspect. A long wait for booking in. Even longer wait for service. Much too loud local radio. Luke warm water for tea, half frozen fruit salad and a long, long wait for porridge. What we actually found disturbing was the cat scavenging for food amongst the tables. Not only because I have a fur allergy but for basic cleanliness. The staff appeared to be aware of our concerns but did nothing about it, saying it was likely to scratch them if they intervened. Ugh!! There are some minor matters, such as 'FREE' Wi Fi being dependant on signing up to a webpage. Not a chance!! Location is good for a variety of Cornish sites of interest. No doubt much used by families of staff at the very close Culdrose Naval Airbase but flying does not happen too much at weekends. Anyway, we love helicopters and support 'our troops', so would not be a concern to us. Summed up with 'Willing but wanting'.

Room Tip: Don't be afraid to ask staff questions. They ARE very helpful.

Very friendly, helpful staff. Food, room and service were all good.

BUT: the heating in the room was very iffy and would constantly reset itself within minutes, if I could get it to blow out warm air at all, so the room was frequently cold.

The wifi was terrible. Not the free stuff, the paid for service. Constantly dropping out and disconnecting with awful connection speeds. Worse, you can only use 2 devices without having to pay again, which is not even enough for 1 person with a phone, laptop and iPad say, let alone if you have 2 in a room.

We took advantage of a special offer to spend three weekend nights here at the beginning of December 2012. We prefer a room for the disabled with twin beds. Frequently we find such rooms are not available. We contacted the hotel directly in advance and they "split" the usual double.
The parking was plentiful with Disabled parking at the front door. The facilities were first rate, the staff friendly, cheerful and efficient, and the restaurant across the car park provided tasty meals at reasonable prices.
Lands End, the Lizard, Penzance, Hayle, St Ives are all within easy reach. The weather on Saturday was good and we found a Sports Bar in St Ives to watch the All Blacks match. Sundaay was dreadful - so rainy and foggu you could hardly see the sea at Lands End but, hey, you can't have everything!
An excellent weekend break probably well worth reapeating in the Spring.

Nice small Premier Inn. No noise and it was nice and clean as expected. I was only here a short while this time by myself, but would happily return with the family at a later date. There is also a nice restaurant next door where you can spend the evening

My boyfriend and I stayed here mid October during a lovely, sunny weekend, for 2 nights.
Our room was spotless, roomy and overlooked the farm out the back, with rolling hills.
The reception staff were friendly and welcoming.
The room had basic tea/coffee making facilities and heating/AC which, once mastered, worked efficiently. TV was adequate and positioned on the wall with a clear picture.
The bathroom was clean and the power shower was great!
Beds were VERY comfortable and the Hotel is in a quiet area.
There is a nearby Tesco Superstore for supplies.
The only complaint was that cleaning staff didn't attempt to come in,so towels were not replaced and still damp when we came back from our day out.
There is no telephone so if you need Reception, you need to leave your room!
The May Tree restaurant next door is not to be recommended.
Food was ok, but they messed up our order.
They forgot my salad, brought sandwiches intead of toasted ones, then they overcharged me for my drink on the bill.
But to be fair, the Manager came and aplogised and didn't charge me for my sandwich.
This issue isn't actually connected to the Hotel itself, but as it's right next door and there are no other restaurants nearby, I think it should be mentioned.
Very impressed with the value of this Hotel.
Booked only 3 weeks before, on their website and cost £104 for the 2 nights.
Would highly recommend to a budget conscious traveller.

I have never stayed here before but I was welcomed by the receptionist Tracey with a warm smile and jolly personality, I was quickly booked in and ask if I would like to eat at the 'Table Table' next door which I had already pre booked for the Breakfast/ 3 course evening meal deal.

The room was clean and tidy and had the usual fittings you would expect at any Premier Inn, the room faced the rear of the hotel and looked out over open countryside. I had a very quite peaceful night.

Check out the following morning was also swift and efficient

This is a typical Premier Inn offering... nothing special but clean and tidy and friendly reception staff (ok maybe this is a bit different for a Premier Inn!). The hotel side is OK but is let down by the restaurant which is probably best avoided... There is supposed to be free wi-fi available in the restuarant but this is only available in the hotel for free for 30 minutes.... why? Had breakfast on one of the mornings we stayed but the wifi failed to work at all and the breakfast is expensive (£8.25) with poor quality, luke-warm coffee served from some sort of urn. This is difficult to understand when whitbread, who own Premier inn also own Costa Coffee...

If you stay here, go down the road to the Sainsbury's Cafe where you can get a freshed cooked full breakfast for £3.99...

Room Tip: All rooms are the same: clean and tidy... avoid restaurant
