“enjoyable stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 23, 2013

We too booked this through a deal and stayed for three nights. On arrival, the lady at reception was very helpful, she asked us where we had parked and got the map out of the site and showed us where we needed to go, She told us lots of info about the buses, the general area, local shops, she couldn't have been more helpful. On arrival at our three bedroom house,no 43. we were pleasantly surprised. It was clean and tidy and very spacious, We had no damp at all, the bathroom, lovely and clean, was a little bit difficult to get out of the bath, after showering as it was quite a high step, but you can get that at big hotels too. One tip, make sure you put the immersion switch on, as you will have no hot water, it does take awhile say, three minutes for hot water to come through, but it is very hot when it does. We had a double bed, two single beds and bunk beds, as there were only two of us we had the double and single, only negative the rooms did smell slightly of smoke, probably from the previous occupants. The kitchen area basic but lovely clean fridge, microwave, kettle. plenty of knives and forks, corkscrew, tin opener. Plenty of crockery. We didn't use the pool, but we did have a drink one evening, we didnt think the drinks too expensive. Although a short stay, we would definitely come back

Thank you for taking the time to write such a fantastic review. We are thrilled to hear how much you enjoyed your stay and how helpful and friendly the staff were.

We pride ourselves on our family feel at John Fowler Holidays, and are delighted to have such loyal customers as yourselves.

With regard to the immersion heater, you are quite right. All our cleaners are requested to switch them off for obvious reasons.

We look forward to welcoming you again very soon.

We booked a 4 night break through an internet ad. and then read the reviews. We were quite concerned and actually prepared for the worst. When we arrived last Monday what a pleasant suprise. The accomodation TS48 was spotlessly clean very spacious and comfortable. It was well equipped and comfortable.
We did a have a problem with the TV not working and went to reception to ask for it to be fixed. The guy at reception dropped everythinga nd follwed us back to the hosue and fixed it straight away.
One area where Tolroy needs to put in some effort is with the pool. It is very old and dated with tiles missing and poor changing rooms. Even this woudl not stop us returning

Room Tip: TS 48 had absolutely no faults

Thank you very much for leaving us such a fantastic review, we really appreciate it. Your comments have been passed to all departments.

We do take great pride in cleaning all grades of accommodation to a very high standard and it’s brilliant that this isn’t going unnoticed. All comments will be passed on to our Housekeeper and the cleaning team.

The park does not deserve poor reviews and thankfully they are few and far between. We simply do not understand why some people choose to post them, when all the staff work really hard to make everyone feel welcome, as you experienced. However, we are all individuals and we can all have vastly different opinions on the same subject and I suspect that if the writers of the poor reviews knew how their collective comments affected the jobs of ordinary Cornish people, they probably wouldn’t write them.

I am delighted to hear that you had a great time. Our returning customers are very important to us and we look forward to welcoming you again very soon.

I had read the reviews & at that time they all seemed really bad so I was really worried what I would find but I didn't have anything to worry about, fantastic site. We stayed in a 3 bed house & it was lovely, clean & tidy. Kitchen was very small but very well equipped although it would be way to small for the amount of people the house could accommodate (6/8). I would suggest the fridge needs updating as I don't think it kept the food cool enough, even on no. 7 setting & the freezer box was completely useless. The beds were a bit too hard for my liking & the frames that the mattresses sat on creaked terribly but we sorted it by putting the mattresses on the floor. We only went to the entertainment in the evening once but that was excellent. My daughter (21 months) loved the play area & we couldn't have asked for better weather. I would definitely stay here again.

I sometimes wonder who writes the poor reviews about such a lovely park but perhaps, more importantly, why. When we try to contact the writers of the really bad ones to discover what exactly went wrong with their holiday, you can imagine we get no reply.

I am delighted to hear that you had a great time and we look forward to welcoming you again very soon.

This was my 2nd visit to tolroy manor. The staff are so friendly & all very good at their jobs, from the welcoming reception,to amazing mark. Nothing was ever too much effort or trouble,we only had to ask. The entertainment in the evenings was fab too! The camp itself had lots to keep us entertained from my 4yr old son to my 30yr old self :) I had yet another lovely break & can't wait to return next year :)

This bargain trip exceeded my expectations . We stayed in a cottage in strawberry section and it was lovely . Everything was provided for self catering , and it easily fitted two adults and four children . The kids loved playing out in the grassed area around the cottages with friends they'd made . The facilities on site were good and kept the kids occupied . Located a five minute or so drive to local beaches . A lovely park in hayle centre also about 5 mins away . We also did our own little nature trail in the fields around the site . All in all a lovely time had by all . I would stay here again .

Excellent stay yet again for the 5th time. I cannot fault anything, surroundings politeness of staff.
We have been to other parks that Fowlers own and this is the best we have been to, easy access to St Ives and other places.Sanjay, Marc, Steph, Jess, Mike, Janna and Jade... very nice people, and so where the guests. So if you want value for money, this is the place to be, I know I am back there next year, for more "punishment", that's because which ever way my daughter could set me up...... but it was all in fun and that is what matters

Room Tip: For the 12 year we have been going from Hull to Cornwall, we have been to Trelawne Manor, Widemouth...

We came from 2-6Sept. Me, my partner & our 23month old son. Lovely location & the weather was on our side!! The staff on reception were lovely & showed us exactly where our chalet was on a little map (trevithick 56) the chalet grounds are very well kept with ample lighting. Our chalet was sooo cute & had more amenities than i expected ...although EXTREMLEY clean it was quite damp :( no visible signs but it did have a distinct smell & made our clothes a bit damp too (I've put this on my review form too) this didn't really affect us though. The pool was really nice & changing rooms have crates for u to put your belongings, the little baby part was very good for our son too. The park is a good size & we had fun using the crazy golf, yes its a bit worn...but seriously its just for fun and that's what we had. Food was reasonably priced & the Veg lasagne was gorgeous. LOVED mark, Steph & Jess....seriously sick of reading bad reviews about them!! They work bloody hard & are all super!! Their through the decades show was a real highlight. Would love to return here we loved it!! Xxx
