“Family Holiday”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 9, 2013

We have recently stayed here for the very 1st time.
We stayed in a A5 chalet, we found it spacious, comfortable & clean.
Really a great place, and offers something for everyone.
The club house is very reasonable for drinks and the entertainment was good.
We will certainly be returning next year.

We spent a week at St Ives Bay Holiday Park first week in June. Weather was gorgeous. Camp and caravan were very clean and comfortable. Staff were all very friendly and helpful. Lots of places to see and visit. Beautiful countryside everywhere we went. We had a great time and will definitely return. Only downside for us was the steep climb on and off the beach but there are wooden steps to help, with Bistro at top of steps.

Room Tip: Some caravans have beach views.

Just had a cracking holiday. It started off great lovely site, A5 chalet good value and the beach is just fantastic. We thought the bar was too good value, and then mid week the prices were increased. It is no loner possible to buy two drinks for under £7. The average round came to about £7.30. We fealt sorry for the bigger families, and it did mar my enjoyment as I bought the drink rounds. It also had a an effect upon the numbers playing Bingo and the top house prize of £100 fell to £60 by the end of the week. With reduced numbers we found ourselves playing for a starting house of £2.50 an one of these had two winners. Overall, the staff were great and very pleasant. It is just a pity about the prices and because of this we found ourselves also leaving the club house earlier by the end of the week depending upon the quality of entertainment. Entertainment was generally very good, Roo McKeller fantastic as too were the acrobatic jugglers who followed. Chris calling the bingo was also compare and his friendly personality also makes him one of the star attractions. I have been coming to the site for over 30 years and will continue to do so because it has everything without being too pricey (except for the new bar prices).

Thanks for the generous review! Sorry about drink prices but we price same as local pubs so we are not expensive! Same goes for shop and food prices. They are not inflated. There was no price change during that week. Prizes for bingo depend on how many play.

the site has everything you need. however within stones throw of great places to visit like St Michaels Mount and bus stop just outside the park which the buses run very often. you can buy a days pass which makes it cheaper. Theres a lidls just down the road from campsite. various different places to eat if you dont want eat on site. great entertainment but the brochure will tell you when things are on and dates of things. highly recommend for everyone. doesnt really have a fitness centre however they is a surf school.

We stayed in an A5 chalet, great amount of space, good cooking facilities, bathroom a little dated though. Could do with a hoover though as only brush and pan supplied and that sand gets everywhere. Great little park area right outside the chalet so we could let the kids play out there safely. Chalets are quite near the entrance, so nearer to Dynamo Bar than pool/beach/bistro, Bit of a trek to the other end of the park especially with younger children. Also could do with a non slip bath mat as I nearly went flying first night! Park was beautifully kept and the beach is lovely. You have to navigate some sand dunes to get to the beach, not too bad going down but a bit of a killer coming up again especially with small children or those with limited mobility problems. Prices in shop and bar reasonable - try the Rattler cider!!!We ate twice at the Bistro and both times were fine. Pizzas were especially nice. Great location too, if you are self catering as in not eating out at all here is a great Lidl about ten minutes walk away and about twenty minutes walk a CO-OP. Grill was very slow though and no toasters provided but other cooking facilities were great.Used the pool a couple of times, first time ogt there about half nine and it was very busy, next time went a little later and it was pretty quiet. On site surf school where you can hire wet suits and boards. Body boarding was great fun £5.00 per wet suit for 3 hours - well worth it. Surf lesson costs £35.00 for 2 hours, we didn't do it but our friends did and loved it. Our friends stayed in the scirroco with decking and they were a great size in a lovely location overlooking the beach. In short this was a great value holiday, in a well kept chalet with great facilities. We liked it so much we are going back again next year.

We have a wonderful half term. We arrived early and nothing was too much trouble, we were allowed to use facilities and check in early. We stayed in a raven caravan and it was ideal for the 5 of us. Very clean and the only thing it needed was a toaster.
Bay bistro served very nice food and good value for money (not overpriced like lots of holiday parks).
Beach was on our doorstep and empty even tho we had some lovely weather.
Swimming pool was a good standard and lifeguards very quick to respond.
Dynamite club, entertainment was good and drinks not overpriced.
We enjoyed our holiday so much that we've booked for next year already and have recommended it to our family and friends.

this was a birthday present from my husband and although the views where stunning we arrived on the 18/5/13 unfortunately i had broken my ankle the weekend before so was wheelchair bound, certainly not wheelchair friendly, there was no welcome pack in the caravan whenever we have booked a static on any holiday site there is always a welcome pack with a sachet of washing up liquid sponge toilet roll blackbag not in this one, the t.v was screwed down so you coudnt turn it around, the caravan i would give 6/10 for cleanliness. the first couple of eveings we managed to get down to the bar and bistro, food wasnt briliant, so monday decided to ask about the enteratinment only to find the actual clubhouse wasnt opening untill bank holiday weekend which was when we where due to leave, we were noit told this at the time of booking so tuesday morning we packed up and left . be warned if you go out of season there isnt anything todo on site, although may i wouldnt call out of season, and the shop is well over priced . would not go back again

Thanks for the review. Our Easy access units (for wheelchairs) are brand new this year and to a high standard. All clients are given a welcome pack on arrival. very sorry if we somehow missed you. Park is in sand dunes going to a sandy beach and so is not naturally wheelchair friendly. However all buildings have proper ramps and facilities in place. They are a requirement after all. So sorry we did not meet expectations.
