“Fantastic family holiday!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 26, 2012

Stayed here for two weeks in a mirage caravan, van was very clean and comfortable. We had sea views which was great! The caravan was well stocked with glasses, plates&bowls, bedding, cutlery etc...

The park is very big and staff are always happy to help. There is the dynamite bar which has bingo at 7:30 and then some sort of entertainment(family comedian/singer/magic show...) There is a childrens room in the dynamite bar where children can go and have a mini disco or some form of entertainment. There is also the sands bar which is adults only unless you choose to sit in the conservatory where children are allowed. The park is situated right on a lovely beach with steps that lead down to it over the sand dunes. The bay bistro serves food with plenty of variety, something for everyone. There is a bay bistro takeaway chipy on-site which serves good quality fish and chips etc, this stays open untill late.

The park is situated in the village of hayle which is lovely, with a few shops(co-op and lidl), pubs and takeaway/resteraunts... Another highlight of the location is that it is only 10 minute car ride or 20 minute bus ride(from stop outside camp) to st ives bay, which is fantastic!!! There are loads of shops and resteraunts here and a beautifull beach/harbour. If your lucky at around 6:30 at the end of the pier you will see 4 great seals!

Over all an absolutely fabulous holiday, will definately be back!

Just returned from a week spent at St Ives Bay Holiday Park with my wife and 2 young sons. The park itself is fabulous and it's location is right on a gorgeous beach. The layout of the park is very well thought out and gives most a view of the sea or sand dunes. Facilities are excellent, with the Bay Bistro a particular treat. The staff here are a credit to the owners, very attentive, helpful and friendly, and when not serving are constantly tidying tables etc and generally busying themselves.
The atmosphere in the park is very relaxed and laid back, making time spent on site enjoyable.
We stayed in a 3 bed static caravan and have to say this was the most disappointing aspect of the stay. For just under £800, we felt it was overpriced for what is was (approx 9 years old) and generally looking its age. A similar size but newer would have cost nearly £1000 and we weren't prepared to pay that. There are some smaller 2 bed options which are cheaper, and some which were more expensive. The camp sites looked very popular, and are well serviced by really clean and well maintained toilet and shower blocks. There is also washing up stations and a launderette.

Other facilities are an excellent shop (although there is also an Lidl just round the corner from the park), and a really nice swimming pool. This does get busy at times though and is only open 9-6. Changing facilities are unisex and rather chaotic at busy times, and a restriction on balls and inflatables in the pool would have been welcomed.

We will almost certainly return at some point, but probably when we have bought our touring caravan. Unless of course if we win the lottery, and then we might splash out on another static for a week.

In summary, great park right on a fabulous beach. Statics are expensive, but the facilities and staff are excellent. Would highly recommend a stay here

Arrived earlier tha expected but could go to caravan straight away,Very worried on drive down as two years ago went to a site overlooking Talland Bay,the caravan was not clean.I shouldn't have worried it was spotless,so I started to relax, even more so when I saw the view from the window,an elevated position overlooking the beach and Godrevy lighthouse, amazing.
Reception staff very friendly and welcoming.
Site is huge with chalets, static caravans, tent and caravan pitches, but never felt it was overbusy or imposing from others.
Bay Bistro has great food and views over bay and St Ives.
Swimming pool clean and well attended with lifeguards,go early it does get busy, opens at 9am til 6pm.
I loved walking or running on the beach and dunes morning and evening when not many folk about.(sorry fitness fanatic!!!)saw lovely wildlife and sea views.
Great touring base further from St Ives than I thought, but get the train into St Ives,it is the most scenic ever. This way you avoid the parking problems.St Ives in my opinion is the best place,I love it's 5 gorgeous white sand, turquoise water beaches to choose from and lovely shops, restaurants in cobbled streets.
My two boys aged 10 and 9 loved this site and they are tough critics believe me.We would recommend this site highly, credit where credit is due in my opinion.

We turned up 1 hour and a half early and we got the key to our caravan. We got in and the caravan was clean and well equiped. The bingo was fun and if you didn't win you could win some fudge. The shop was stacked with items and gifts and so on. The pool gets busy on rainy days but in fair weather it is good. the bistro was good great food. and the site is huge and is good for bikes. If you stop in caravan 737 look after it because i stopped there

Room Tip: Get a mirage or higher

Stayed in tent for week with kids. Lots of families and didn't experience any late night noise. Beach is beautiful. Restaurant reasonable priced & food good. Site is large and wouldn't let children wander too far. Kids entertainment was good but extremely busy. Bingo was fun but again v busy and hard to get a seat in bar area. Washrooms are cleaned regularly and kept spotless. Tip- take ur own hair dryer.

We were 2 familys so had hired 2 moblie homes next to each other.
We did the Wednesday - Wednesday to try and avoid the Saturday rush with driving... we have a 5hour drive so this helped.

Van's were ok not the best we have stayed in BUT at £500 for a week in August a bargain!!
We were mid park so walk to beach/pool/ or on site shop was very easy.
Van's were sort of clean on arrival... could of been better but we soon sorted them!!
had a a couple of issues and went reported to reception man arrived really quicked to fix anything that needed to be done.

Reception staff were helpfull and there are loads of leaflets there for days out which we used.

Inside pool was nice and kids only used it twice but had fun.

We booked the suba diving in the pool at £15 pe person BUT they wouldn't let one of party do it as he has Asthma.... this needs to made clearer on booking as we and another family had upset children!!

2 of our children did the surf lessons and loved it not cheap at £30 for 2.5 hours but they want to go again on our next trip!!

The park is spotlessly clean and there are security walking around the park. (not that we saw any trouble)

Our friends children went missing one evening and the staff were spot on and within minutes 5 of being informed staff were out looking on their radios.... kids were found safe and sound playing on the beach!!!

Would we return again... OH yes without a doubt!!

Just returned from the site after paying £880 for one of their new top of the range caravans.
On arrival the caravan looked like it hadn't been cleaned for months.
My mum spent the 1st 2 hours of our holiday cleaning the van which I was horrified to find out as I wasn't there. As soon as I found out I reported it to the main office. About hald an hour later a manager turned up, but showed little interest and didn't even want to come in.
We showed her the evidence which she noted on a pad. I asked her what would be done about this and she replied "I can give you a free bottle of cleaning spray to replace the bottle you have used." I told her that was a complete insult and asked to speak to the owners.
20 mins later she returned with a bottle of dettol spray. !!
I have received NO communication from the site again during our stay and when I returned to the office, they couldn't care a bit.
The site is OK but I would never stay at the site again due to the attitude of the staff and recommend caution booking with them, as once they have your money, you will struggle to get it back.
