I guess Monday lunch time is not good here!.
50/50 on the food.
Sue enjoyed her spicy chicken dish although the chips were an odd brown colour and probably left over from Sunday.
I had Sausage and mash, watery gravy, three tiny sausages and a dollop of so so mash at £9 was very poor value.
No conversation from the landlord who was more interested in reading his paper, not asked if we enjoyed the meal......perhaps he just did not care, all that was needed was for a tumble weed to blow in and across the room.
Odd that the place has such good write ups,may be we were just in the wrong place at the wrong time.
Easy parking and a good time of the year to go see the splendid Christmas lights the village has to offer.
Will we visit again,probably not.

I am sorry that you didn't enjoy your meals or the atmosphere in the pub. With respect, most pubs are quieter or closed during lunch times. Steve tries to be friendly towards everyone, however, also respects the privacy of diners when they are eating. In pour experience most diners do not want a staff member hovering over them while they eat.

All food is cooked fresh to order, including chips! I am disappointed that the customers did not complain directly to Steve to give him an opportunity to rectify the situation. I am also disappointed that he was told in front of many people 'how lovely the meal was'.
