“Excellent views and friendly atmosphere”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 28, 2010

We stayed here for a few days getaway and it was ideal. Excellent views of St.Ives Bay, good friendly atmosphere, breakfast good and plentiful, rooms were clean and modern. Next time I am in the area, I wouldn't hesitate to stay again.

From the time we arrived, (my Mum and myself) on the 23rd August 2010, we had a lovely warm, friendly welcome from Barbara, our room was beautiful and clean, lovely sea view, en-suite.very quiet, everything was exactly as it said, the Beach is very close, very clean and the sea is in most of the time, it doesn't go right out.
The Bucket of Blood Pub is just down the road, it is walkable but not for the elderly (depending on their abilities of course).
All in all it is the best holiday we have had and we will definatley be going there again hopefully in April.
There was no negatives all 100%+++ positives

The Penellen is the best bed and breakfast I have ever stayed in. The location is stunning and the service is second to none. Nothing is too much trouble for the proprieters, Barbara and Paul. The inside is spacious and spotless! I will definitely be going back, hopefully this year. You really do not want to leave.

The Penellen is situated in a great location, ideal for sight seeing Hayle and St Ives. Our room was comfortable and relaxing with a good sized en-suite and excellent cleanliness. Everything you require is provided, I particularly liked having access to the bottled water in the room and various magazines to flick through! We had lovely cooked breakfasts and nothing was too much trouble with very friendly service and informative of the local area.
