“ruff n ready.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 24, 2013

Not one of the most stunning beaches we have ever visited but it more than served its purpose when we stayed at nearby Tolroy manor last week.We visited here 3 times ranging from 7 am to 7 pm and it never became busy.We parked outside on the road and walked the 200 yards along a bumpy old track which brought us out onto this manned beach. It is dog friendly too although they have to be on lead during certain hours.

“Rugged Eye Candy”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 19, 2013 via mobile

Hayle is a stunning little place for all sorts of reasons including the beach. Standing on the cliff tops, filling your lungs with fresh sea air is without equal. The expanse of sand and the view is majestic. What a fabulous place to while away some time. And apart from the ice cream it's free. Yea. Unspoilt England at its best!

“Huge loss of sand”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 19, 2013

In the mornings I walk along north quay, watch the wild geese fly across from the Lelant mud flats and the wild life in the river. Today i ventured out onto the beach....amazed on just how much sand has been removed . Over the years their has been a "Mad" process allowing lorry loads of sand to be removed,God only knows why this stupid process has been allowed from one of the most beutiful stretch's of beach in the west country.
I grew up on the Towans, after storms huge quantities of sand would be moved by the sea and deposited in various area's,but, it always evened out.
Now I fear that this mad process will endanger our area for ever.

Back to North quay.
Great to see the old industrial area cleared and prepared for regeneration but apart from dog walkers wrapping the pets waste into plastic bags and then throwing it into the gravel area where the proposed buildings will at some time go,the place is rapidly returning to a desolation.

Having said that, easy to park at this time, easy to walk if you have mobility problems 7 if you like to fish then both North & South quays offer this as an easy option.

Do not be put off,I see the change but many on holiday will have no idea of just how it was, lovely beach and certainly with caution {Tide and current wise} family friendly.

“Beautiful beach!!! A MUST!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 2, 2013

We Googled beaches which allowed dogs and stumbled upon this stunning beach. We parked up at The Bluff Inn (which is £0.60 per hour or £3.50 all day but refunded if you ordered from the pub).

If you look down on the beach from The Bluff, to the left, in the distance, were lots of dogs and to the right were a few dogs too. So we walked down but noticed a seasonal ban on dogs. We chose to ignore this as, like I said, there were dogs on the beach already and our dog is a well behaved dog who was kept on his lead all the while. As we walked down to the right, we passed the life guard shack and further along the path was an ice cream store, toilets, and steps leading down to the beach. There were loads of little pools and beautiful golden sand which stretched for miles as the tide was out.

We walked further down to the right along the beach and noticed that the beach stretched absolutely miles and there were various lifeguard sections keeping an eye on the swimmers and surfers, which is great if you have a young family. There were a fair amount of people on the beach, but due to the size of the beach, it looked a bit empty...

The beach was clean and tidy and well looked after. Adding to the beauty.

HIGHLY RECCOMMENDED!!! Go and see this beautiful beach!!!
