“Very Smart Hotel.. Great attention to detail...”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 7, 2013 via mobile

My wife and I have just returned from a couple of nights at the Llawnroc.. Really lovely Hotel.. Beautifully presented with an interior which is a credit to the interior designers! Ultra Modern.. Lovely rooms.. Classy bar & dining facilities... Very nice food.. Helpful staff.. Secluded location with really pretty harbour within mins walk...
Would definitely return again.. If you are looking for a luxury hotel then look no further..
Negatives...
No porter when we arrived and member of staff watched us carry.. X4 bags and a baby so a helping hand would have been nice...
a mini bar in room would have been lovely and the icing on the cake would have been a swimming pool.. Other than this... Faultless! Keep up the good work Llawnroc

A smart boutique hotel hidden away, within a stones throw of an idealic little beach. Staff were polite and very helpful and the food was very good and great value - had diner there twice. Although there are no real facilities in the hotel we went to place like Eden Project and Lands End for the day.

Room Tip: We paid a little more to have sea view - but could only just see the sea. The room was a little sma...

The Llawnroc is a very modern, well run smaller hotel. It has a very relaxed atmosphere helped in part by the friendly staff. It is in a very quite location very close to the sea, the sound of sheep in the neighbouring field, and seagulls make a nice change from police sirens, and buses stopping and starting where we live in London. The room was a very large size, very well equipped and tidy. A great base to explore Cornwall as the Gorran Haven is very beautifull, as is the small village of Gorran. The lost gardens of Heligan are very close by, as is the Eden project, Mevigisey, and Charles Town. Would defiantly stay again

We stayed for one night on our way back from visiting a relative in another part of Cornwall. We wanted to explore a different area of Cornwall we don't usually get to on our trips to the north coast. Gorran Haven was much smaller than I expected and there was little to explore so if you base yourself here you will want to drive to other places as well. Be prepared for narrow lanes. The hotel is modern and the room was VERY comfortable. I believe we were upgraded as our room had a balcony, but I imagine all the rooms have big comfy beds, stunning bathrooms and lots of gadgets. As the weather was hot the efficient air-conditioning (not common in Cornish hotels) was very welcome. This was the best room out of the three hotels we stayed in on this trip. We ate in the bistro and had a good evening meal. Breakfast was good, but I would have liked a more extensive fresh fruit selection. All the staff were helpful and friendly. If you want a hotel to base yourself in to visit Eden, Lost Gardens of Heligan and Fowey then this could be the one for you.

We had a brilliant stay here. The staff was extremely hospitable !!! The food at the restaurant was fantastic. We had received a complimentary bottle of wine and also cream tea which came with our deal. The rooms were huge equipped with a PS3. Me and wife were hooked onto it !!! The staff offered myriad choices of video games. Room service was also great. The view is lovely with great seating arrangements outside. The beach is about 10min walk from the hotel. My wife had planned a birthday treat for me wherein the staff were very kind to assist her with some requests. I would definitely recommend it .

We ( me, my husband, son 25 and daughter 21) were staying at lovely Gorran Haven and booked in for dinner at The Llawnroc on our first evening as a double celebration of my daughter completing her degree and turning 21. We went to the bar to get pre-dinner cocktails and as we placed our order the young barman looked at the bar manager and she asked my daughter for ID ...she explained that she had forgotten to bring her ID on holiday ( I had said "oh never mind it won't be a problem you're with us !) the manager said they have a policy of ID if you look under 25 so we said she is 21 a couple of times more and they still refused to serve her...I helpfully pointed out I am 53 my husband 58 son 25 and daughter 21..at this point I noticed my very mild mannered husband starting to look uncharacteristically annoyed and asking if we were not going to be served ( or believed?) then the Manager said " if you were dining with us she could drink if over 16.. I would give you that leniency" so delightedly we said " we are dining with you" thinking problem solved...but no ... the official stance was not to budge...
We took our drinks outside ...daughter got tearful and my husband and I were furious at the whole situation...to be disbelieved and made to feel a liar...when if we'd sat down at dinner we could have plied a 16 year old with lots of alcohol...how preposterous was that !!
So my husband went back inside and said because of the way they had implemented their policy we would not be staying to eat and we left
...after all that the Llawnroc cocktail was overpriced and not very pleasant and they missed out on getting the custom of 4 healthy eaters
We went to a lovely welcoming pub in St Ewe and had a great meal.We ate at lots of pubs and resataurants on our holiday and were never again asked for ID..

We wanted a break to chill out, relax and get away from it all and we found just that at the Llawnroc. The staff from the outset were very friendly and made us feel extremely welcome. The hotel decor was beautifully designed and well maintained throughout. Our room was very comfortable with a super sea view and had all the amenities required for our stay. We were very lucky in that the warm summer weather had arrived and the air conditioning helped to cool us down on our return from the beach. The village itself is charming, so typically Cornish, and all the locals very friendly. The beach, especially the hidden beach accessible at low tide, is very clean and a pretty location. The food at the Llawnroc was very tasty and well presented and they were very accommodating for my gluten-free diet. They also recommended some very good restaurants nearby to eat, the Salamander in Mevagissey being my favourite. All in all we couldn't fault anything and certainly would recommend this hotel wholeheartedly.
