My husband and I stayed in one of the Cottage Rooms last weekend for one night and it is by far one of the best places we've ever stayed. Our usual stays are at hotel chains or resorts and although some of them are very nice, they don't compare to the way you are treated here at the Inn. Our cottage room was immaculate and we felt very much at home with the quilts on the beds to the decorative switchplates and the window furnishings. Even the shower curtain was lovely. They had a welcome basket for us with those wonderful crackers and jam from the village and samples of chocolates along with complimentary travel mugs and a coupon for breakfast the next morning. We've never had anything like that before and it made us feel very welcome. A week later, we even received a thank you card in the mail signed by the housekeeper. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone.

We just got back from staying at the Inn At Kitchen Kettle Village.
This place offers different types of accommodations but we stayed at the "Inn" because it was available when I went on line. Was somewhat apprenhensive because it was still available at a late date but we really needed to get away.

Well, were we surprised. Their inn must have been newly renovated because everything from floor to ceiling appeared to be brand new. And our room was such a haven. We never enjoyed sitting in a hotel/motel room as much as we did when we stayed here. Their managements really thinks about the little extras, as if they were a B&B. Also, as so many others have already pointed out, everything is so clean. And, in the inn anyway, I suspect they had a designer redecorate the rooms. They are certainly not your average hotel/motel/inn rooms.

Our room was awesome. It was tastefully painted along with an Amish quilt on a four-poster bed with Amish wall hangings. Also, we never expected such a large bathroom along with a waterfall showerhead. And, other guests allowed us to loook at their rooms and they were awesome too. So, it felt like we were staying in a B&B. And, the Inn at Kitchen Kettle Village also gives their guests coupons for breakfast (and lunch) at the Kling House within the Village.

As far as Kitchen Kettle Village, I can't recall if any other reviewer has mentioned their petting zoo. It is fairly close to the building that they call the Inn. And, one morning, it appeared that the men were having a good time feeding the chickens and sheep while their wives and girlfriends shopped at the Village. (One thing about the chickens though: I'd warn that some of the chickens were a little rough for young children.)

  • Liked — The cleanliness and their overall attention to detail for their customer's comfort.
  • Disliked — We did not want to leave.

We stayed in Room 103 (upstairs) of the Strawberry Street Quarters at Kitchen Kettle Village. This was our 1st experience with Kitchen Kettle & Amish Country and it FAR exceeded our expectations! We were welcomed to a gift basket complete with samples from various village shops and nice travel coffee mugs as well as cold bottled water in our fridge. We were given a supply of coffee and tea to get us through our stay as well!

Our room was extremely clean, very welcoming and inviting! The bed was the most comfortable bed we've ever slept on in a hotel! We had no qualms about letting our baby roam free in the room/on the floor!

We really enjoyed having the Village to ourselves in the evening and early morning. Our 1 yr old son LOVED looking at the animals at the petting zoo and it was a great distraction for him. They provided a pack-n-play for us along with linens and the cutest baby blankets--the blankets were a nice touch!

The staff was very friendly and helpful! They made us feel like special guests! They even anticipated our needs and left us a couple extra trash bags (for diaper disposal) as we had ran out that morning!

The continental breakfast was very good with your choice of bread (sticky bun, bagel, etc.) and fresh fruit or fruit juice. It is in the Kling House Restaurant next door so you actually sit down and eat in the restaurant rather than grab and go. It's not really for those who are on a time schedule in the morning (we were cutting it close for a tour that we had planned that a.m.).

Kitchen Kettle is right in the heart of Amish country. So, we saw (and heard) Amish horses and buggies all day long! It was really neat to be that close to the Amish and felt we got a glimpse into their world! There are several covered bridges nearby and TONS of Amish farms where you'll see the men working in the fields! Sight & Sound Theater and the outlet malls are all w/n 15 min. of Kitchen Kettle so it was convenient to what we wanted to do/see.

I can't say enough about the accommodations and how clean our room and the entire village was! We were totally spoiled by staying at Kitchen Kettle and will definitely stay here again! Forget the chain hotels...your stay at Kitchen Kettle will be special and memorable!

We have visited Kitchen Kettle Village numerous times and stayed at their Inn frequently. We love staying there at the different rooms & suites they offer as well as the little cottages. They are super clean and the lovely amish decorations & quilts make you feel right at home and comfy. It's a very nice stressfree get away any time during the week. The weekend has a lot more people that visit but it is still wonderful to visit and there is always plenty to do that you need more than one day to visit. We've enjoy each visit with not one problem at any of the sweet rooms they offer. The village is also a quaint cozy place to enjoy some free time and walk about the shops and snack on fudge at the fudge shop or visit the kettle corn booth or the little cafe..they have wonderful hot soup there. We are looking forward to another visit soon.

This review is overdue since we stayed there a month ago but it's well deserved. Now that we've stayed at the Inn I don't think we could consider another hotel in the Amish Country, PA area.
We had the Grand View Suite.
Starting with the staff - they were incredibly friendly from the moment we arrived; we couldn't find the check in area and asked the parking lot attendent. He actually walked us over there while we followed in the car and before he left us gave a cheery "Welcome to Kitchen Kettle Village". Check in was quick and although we were early they called to see how long until the room would be ready and we were told 30 min. (which still got us in the room earlier then normal check-in time). Later during our stay my mother who was traveling with us asked one of the housekeepers where they got the kitchen table because she really liked it - they didn't know but said they'd check and when we came back to our room a few hours later there was actually a note pinned to the door listing some of the local stores that might carry that table!
The suite itself was amazing. Walking in the door you're in the kitchen - full size with refrigerator, stove, microwave, coffee maker and dishwasher and all the accessories. A four person table is near the window. Next was the living room - couch (pull out), chair, oversized two person chair with ottoman, entertainment center with TV, VCR, DVD plus they stock it with family games and movies. Then to a hallway and to the left is a small room with double bed looking out over the village. To the right there's a full bathroom in the hallway and at the end of the hall a Very Large master bedroom. Plenty of floor space. This room looks out the back of the village and that's what makes it the "grand view"......there's nothing back there but farmland. There's also a deck in the back that looks out on this same view. The door is in the kitchen - since it's on the second floor the deck is concrete and the roof slopes like walls on either side of it but the back end is a just a railing and a view. It holds a patio table with four chairs (and there's room enough to bring our a few more chairs from the kitchen if needed). We sat out there eating dinner one night watching an Amish man plow his field in the distance. Morning and night we could see the cows going in and out of the barn.
Also when we got to our room there was a basket of goodies waiting - sample jelly jars, crackers, fudge and a steel travel coffee mug for each of us. They also stock bottled water (16oz Aquafina) in the fridge - two bottles each. I thought we'd get just the two bottles at that was it but found when we took some for the day there'd be replacement bottles in there when we got back.
Breakfast is included at the village restaurant and they were very willing to pack it up for us to take back to the room - coffee, warm sticky bun with butter and fresh fruit.
Summing up: The ammenities and room size are outstanding for the price. The ability to shop in the village and take the bags to the room or go rest for a bit is nice to. I should also mention you'll have a reserved parking space right outside your door. (that and the free water was very nice since we happened to visit during that heat wave in October; it was fall but each day it was upper 80's to 90's and 100% humidity - sitting in the living room to cool off and rehydrate was appreciated!). Even though you're in a busy shopping village you can not hear the crowds at all. It was fun to walk through the village at night when the stores were closed - as though we had our own little place to stroll. For the littel ones there's a playground and petting zoo across the parking lot. The zoo closes when the village does but the playground will be open.
I only had one complaint and that was the shower; especially the one in the hallway, was very low flow. More than is usual for hotels it seemed so it took a little time to wash hair!
Also; be warned that although it didn't bother us - to get to the room you have to go up a slightly narrow stairway. There's no elevator but I'm sure they'd help you with bags if you asked. There is also some parking for employees in the back so you see some cars from the deck; this is only during village hours and they close 6pm at the latest so it was never a problem for us. The horse and buggy rides go near the room so if the smell of the horses bothers you that might be a problem - we loved hearing them clip clop by.
I would highly reccomend the Inn and if the Grand View Suite is available...........Take It!
