Four of us dined here on a Saturday evening in October.
We had a table near the door, and next to the bar but weren't bothered by people walking past. The fact that we got some cool air when the door opened was also welcome as it was very warm in the restaurant.
The table setting is elegant, classic and understated and the general ambience is warm. We sat at a table with two pews, so although there were cushions the two largish gents were a little cramped.
We had prossecos and cocktails to start - all served well.
We shared starters: Parmesan fritters, which were unbelievably good, and a rabbit bruschetta which was very tasty. A salad of rocket and Parmesan was also excellent. A good value bottle of Soave washed this down well.
For mains we had hake and rolled stuffed veal. These were extremely well cooked and presented. All of our party agreed that the portion size was perfect, and the quality of both the ingredients and the preparation was outstanding. A good value medium red matched the veal well.
Caramel ice cream, vanilla panacotta and a cheese board followed by coffees maintained the high level of food and service.
A slight blip on the final bill was quickly corrected.
This was really a very memorable evening out, and on the basis of this experience (my second visit) I would not hesitate to recommend this restaurant.
