“Fantastic end to a glorious 2012”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 29, 2013

Last December my family and I booked into Middle Cottage, a wonderful bed and breakfast right beside the river at Teddington. The truth is, I am a first timer when it comes to writing travel reviews but could not resist sharing our experience with a wider audience.

The bed and breakfast itself exists besides the family home of the Barkers, Johnny and Sarah, their two young daughters and Carlos the puppy. All of whom are delightful, friendly and welcoming.

Our accommodation was simply excellent, the bed was heavenly to sleep in (how often can you say that when you're away from home?) everything was immaculately clean and the full English breakfast the following morning was absolutely delicious. It was also pretty substantial so we went for a long frosty walk around Petersham and dropped in at the amazing Petersham nurseries, on the other side of the river.

If you’re looking for a really homely, friendly, B&B in a genuinely lovely part of town I thoroughly commend you to phone The Barkers and book a night (or two) at Middle Cottage but please remember to leave plenty of room for breakfast!

Our second visit and all our very high expectations fulfilled. Wonderful welcome, all comfort in highly tasteful surroundings - fresh flowers/fruit, stylish interior design and decoration - amazing breakfast cooked to order and again fulfilling all expectations. Extremely helpful advice and most welcome lift to the Hampton Court Flower Show on the first morning. All of this underpinned by interesting conversation and sharing of points in common. Wonderful!

From the moment you stat to deal with Jonathan you simply know you have made a good choice. I needed to book a range of dates through the year and he was extremely helpful. When offered a deposit he politely declined. The loding consists of a bedroom and a sitting room with a very comy sofa bed. Everything is immaculate and the attention to detail is impressive. There are books and mags to every taste and even a few toys that kept my 7 year old entertained. On arrival we found chocholate cake and smarties waiting and a complientary 'mini bar' fridge which included a bottle of wine, soft drinks water and more chocolate! From the decor, to the toiletries to the bed linen everything is of the absolutely finest quality. And as to breakfast WOW what a spread, my little boy's eyes nearly popped out of his head! With the added benefit of off-street parking and free wifi this place is nothing short of perfect.

I am on Middle Cottage clean and big bed now as I write my review. Totally 100points! The interior design is straight out of design magazine like Elle Decoration, Living Etc; the cleanliness is flawless, the bath products used are all luxury branded (I really enjoyed my bubble bath with a glass of wine- on the house!). A whole living room area for myself, one really can't ask for more from a B&B, it fact it most be one of the best hotel experience I ever had- and I do travel around the world alot.

We stayed here overnight when we came to visit family and friends in Teddington. Such a beautiful place and perfect in every way. It's in a lovely location by Teddington Lough and the rooms are beautifully designed and spotlessly clean. Breakfast was a feast and we spent almost two hours enjoying the array of food and Jon and Sara's hospitality. Highly recommend it and only wish we had been staying a bit longer!

Cannot say enough about thıs B&B, it is more like an appartment & has a very high standard of fixtures & fittings. Nice personal touches too, home made cake on arrival, fully stocked mini bar & fresh flowers. A great location to explore the Thames or London, ideal for business or pleasure. The hosts Sarah & Jon are superb & could not make us more welcome & the breakfast ıs sımply te best. We have been 3 times now & wıll continue to do so.
