We stopped over in Heathrow for one night inorder to catch a flight the following day.
Arriving at Terminal 5 there is a walkway connecting the terminal to Sofitel, is quite a
long walk but nothing you cannot cope. Room was large by European standard and
very well appointed. The bed was amazingly comfortable, adding to complete absent
of aircraft noise making Sofitel Heathrow the perfect place for stopover.
Cost to use internet 15 pounds for 24 hrs. not cheap.

Firstly this hotel is great if you are travelling from Terminal 5, we however were travelling from terminal 1 which is a 30 min transfer via the Heathrow express away, terminals 2 and 3 would have taken a little longer however T4 would have taken considerably longer so consider this when booking.
The room was well appointed with a comfy chair and 2 single beds, there was a walk in shower and separate bath all was spotlessly clean. The TV choices were limited mostly news channels and the pay per view offerings were expensive. Check-in was quick and easy the check in is around 5 mins walk from the terminal and you have to go down one level to get to it. The easy check out feature wasn’t available for us which was a little inconvenient however this wasn’t a major issue as there was no queue.
The hotel is very large and our room wasn’t the easiest to find based on the room number all areas of the hotel were clean and the whole place exudes quality. We didn’t eat at any of the hotels restaurants instead choosing to visit one of the airports pubs this for me was a major plus point.
I have stayed at 3 Heathrow hotels and at the price this is by far the best for an over night stay before an early flight, five star all the way.

Not the cheapest (~£95) but for sheer convenience if you need an overnight stopover with flights from T5 can not be beaten.

Only niggle - why do large group hotels in the UK insist on charging astronomical amounts for internet access. My recent experience of Spain hotels was of free internet access.

We stayed here before flying out to St Petersburg for a long weekend, booking a room and 4 nights valet car parking package. Arriving was very easy, just leave the car in a pull in right outside reception and the keys with reception. The car is then whisked away and parked for you.

The hotel is modern and stylish and much more pleasant than many airport hotels. Our room was large, comfortable and well equipped. I can't understand a previous review suggesting a charge for the TV, unless you wanted to watch "Pay TV".

We ate dinner in Brasserie Roux, and found the food to be extremely good, with pleasant and efficient service. Not cheap but good quality. The hotel is connected by a covered walkway to Terminal 5, so getting to the airport, and back, was easy. On returning we called the valet parkiing service on collecting our bags, and by the time we had walked back to the hotel the car was waiting for us outside reception, with a courteous driver waiting to hand over the keys.

So a good pre travel experience, no problems, no complaints. A quality hotel, with efficient service throughout.
