Well where do I start..........
We booked this hotel last minute for a few days in London and it all went ok
The hotel is about 30 mins into the heart of London which is good
The breakfast is ok the food is nice
Service was ok everyone was polite
Now the bad things you do hear the airplanes from healthrow so you do get woken up during the evenings, This hotel classes it's self as a spa hotel with gym,
Now I am going to tell everyone the facts do not expect a relaxing few days away the gym is a Golds Gym that is part of the hotel so you have all the members coming in using the gym and people staying at the hotel can use it for free, the changing rooms are awful they stink and are not clean at all, the gym up stairs is really for big boys as it is full of men, my wife on several occasions felt really uncomfortable when she was running on the machine because men would come up to her or just stare so she was unable to do her work out.
The spa hmmmm is just a third party company offering treatment that is all nothing relaxing about it really.
Now the worst part of this hotel If you the continental are reading this I suggest you act on this very quickly because this is a huge health and safety hazard and is also a health and hygiene risk
After myself and my wife used the gym we thought that we would use the indoor pool and hot tub, habe a nice swim and relax and we thought everything was ok oh how wrong we are, we both have just come back and both have a type of rash over our bodies, mainly on hair growing areas, we both have been to the doctors where we have been told we have caught the following,
hot tub folliculitis
Now I will tell everyone what this is.
Folliculitis is simply a general term for a bacterial infection of the hair follicles. It is limited to the top layer of skin (the epidermis) and does not usually penetrate down to the deeper soft tissue, so it is deemed a "superficial" infection. A few inflamed follicles together form a carbuncle, and when the infection gets so bad that it does penetrate those deeper tissues, it is called a furuncle or boil. Ugly sounding names for some pretty nasty looking lesions!
Hot Tub Folliculitis is a relatively common simple folliculitis caused by exposure to contaminated water. The main symptom is a tender, itchy skin rash that is usually concentrated in areas under swim garments (your swimsuit helps hold the contaminated water close to your skin!). The rash consists of pink or red bumps that are 2-10mm in diameter and can contain pus (almost like a "pimple") and typically appears around 8-24 hours after being exposure. It typically lasts no more than about 7 to 10 days and goes away on its own.
Basically in a nut shell it is when they do not clean out there pool or hot tub properly and the water is infected with bacteria I would suggest to anyone wanting to stay at this place to avoid it like the plague as it is so bad for a supposedly 4 star hotel to allow this to happen they are putting people health at risk because they are not cleaning there facility's properly.
I would not stay there ever again.....
