“Comfortable hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 24, 2013 via mobile

I staywd justone night for bussiness in this 4 stars hotel and it is really good. The hotel is at 5 mns from the underground station in the center of the city, with good comunication to Heathrow airport and London city center, usin the Picadilly line.
The bedroom is correct in size, bed is enough wide and the bedroom is in very good conditions with a nice shower. The wifi is free in the room and in the res of the hotel and it works fine. There is a gym and sauna free.

Well where do I start..........

We booked this hotel last minute for a few days in London and it all went ok
The hotel is about 30 mins into the heart of London which is good
The breakfast is ok the food is nice
Service was ok everyone was polite

Now the bad things you do hear the airplanes from healthrow so you do get woken up during the evenings, This hotel classes it's self as a spa hotel with gym,

Now I am going to tell everyone the facts do not expect a relaxing few days away the gym is a Golds Gym that is part of the hotel so you have all the members coming in using the gym and people staying at the hotel can use it for free, the changing rooms are awful they stink and are not clean at all, the gym up stairs is really for big boys as it is full of men, my wife on several occasions felt really uncomfortable when she was running on the machine because men would come up to her or just stare so she was unable to do her work out.

The spa hmmmm is just a third party company offering treatment that is all nothing relaxing about it really.

Now the worst part of this hotel If you the continental are reading this I suggest you act on this very quickly because this is a huge health and safety hazard and is also a health and hygiene risk

After myself and my wife used the gym we thought that we would use the indoor pool and hot tub, habe a nice swim and relax and we thought everything was ok oh how wrong we are, we both have just come back and both have a type of rash over our bodies, mainly on hair growing areas, we both have been to the doctors where we have been told we have caught the following,

hot tub folliculitis

Now I will tell everyone what this is.

Folliculitis is simply a general term for a bacterial infection of the hair follicles. It is limited to the top layer of skin (the epidermis) and does not usually penetrate down to the deeper soft tissue, so it is deemed a "superficial" infection. A few inflamed follicles together form a carbuncle, and when the infection gets so bad that it does penetrate those deeper tissues, it is called a furuncle or boil. Ugly sounding names for some pretty nasty looking lesions!
Hot Tub Folliculitis is a relatively common simple folliculitis caused by exposure to contaminated water. The main symptom is a tender, itchy skin rash that is usually concentrated in areas under swim garments (your swimsuit helps hold the contaminated water close to your skin!). The rash consists of pink or red bumps that are 2-10mm in diameter and can contain pus (almost like a "pimple") and typically appears around 8-24 hours after being exposure. It typically lasts no more than about 7 to 10 days and goes away on its own.

Basically in a nut shell it is when they do not clean out there pool or hot tub properly and the water is infected with bacteria I would suggest to anyone wanting to stay at this place to avoid it like the plague as it is so bad for a supposedly 4 star hotel to allow this to happen they are putting people health at risk because they are not cleaning there facility's properly.

I would not stay there ever again.....

we stayed here on business last week and did think that because of the low price for the area it was not going to be the best! I was pleasantly surprised, everything was excellent including the staff who could not do enough, the food and the hotel generally.

The facilities however are Gold's Gym so even though they are good and separated into men's and women's ie sauna etc can get busy.

This was described a close to Heathrow. It isn't. Car parking is £15.00 per night and wasn't secure at all. The service was fine and the room was fine, even if the bathroom smelt a bit "stale". Biggest downer £15.00 for a beer and a glass of wine.
Wouldn't recommend it and certainly wouldn't use it again.

Parking was a nightmare and overpriced at £15. The lift was dreadfully slow and only held 3 people. The stairs were unsafe with step plates that were not fixed. The room was ok, but the bathroom was better. The hairdrier didn't work and evn though it was reported, it wasn't fixed. Free wifi was a bonus. The bed was comfortable and a good nights sleep was had. It's convenient to the tube but on the whole, there are cheaper hotels nearer Heathrow. Hounslow is not a great place in the evening for good food, although the local Indian, Plates, was very good. A refurbished building that on the surface looked quite nice, but was old, not kept particularly well and was rough around the edges.

Dear Guest,

Thank you for taking the time to post your review. I would firstly like to apologies about your recent hotel experience with us. Please rest assured that I am following up on the issues you have raised. I am pleased to read that our rooms and cleanliness of our hotel were still highlights during your stay though.
With regard to the car park, we do charge £15.00 per night and they are CCTV covered and security patrolled on a regular basis, however there is plenty of spaces surrounding area’s pay and display for around £12.00 per day, so we are the cheapest in Hounslow.
Once again Thank you for your feedback, It is only with guest feedback that we can ensure that we maintain the highest standards for all of our guests all of the time.

I do hope that we will have the opportunity to welcome you back to The Continental Hotel in the not too distant future.

Kind regards
Ishan K

We stayed here when we went to London for a few days. The staff were brilliant, the room was fine. You couldn't really hear any additional noise despite beinga busy road thanks to the secondary glazing. The restaurant had a great  menu, and everything we had was delicious and good value...can't beat it. giving a call after we settle in the room was great, it is a reall personal touch. Plenty of choice for breakfast. We would definately use this hotel again with no hesitation. We were worried after we booked it and saw other peoples reviews about thinking they had parked in a war zone, staff, rooms etc and would the wheels still be on their car etc, but,we alltogeather had 3 rooms, and didn't have any problem at all and nor did any other guests whilst we were there, that we knew of. The car park is small compared to the size of the hotel though, as other people have said.
but overall great staff, a great 4* STAR HOTEL

Room Tip: pay a little more and stay in a Exective room, really nice
