“Smart clean hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 23, 2007

The Continental is good quality modern hotel. The rooms are a good size, well appointed and pleasantly minmalist in design. The staff were very helpful and I would certainly stay again. My one gripe was that the gym on the first floor had a tutored session on the Sunday evening which ended at 20.00 so there was thumping music and I was tired and could have done without it. I did mention it when I left and my comments were noted and I felt would be acted on.

I suggest that people shop around on price as you can get this hotel at a pretty reasonable price.
For anyone using Heathrow Airport it is just a couple of stops on the Picadilly line and it is about 3 minutes walk from Hounslow Central tube station.

this hotel is new to hounslow, it was a great hotel for short stays. we stayed there one night(our night away after getting married).
best to book direct with the hotel online in advance bookings as it only costs £65.00 online but over £145.00 if you go in person to book.
as it has golds gym there and a swimming pool, jacuzzi, steam room and sanua which you are allowed to use in the price of your stay.
the room are decorated nicely in naturel colours and the wet room in the batheroom instead of a tiny cubicle was famtastic though the extractor fan in the bathroom was very noisey!!!
the staff were very friendly and the whole experience was gr8

Only problem: lift out of order
Helpful staff, superb standard room with very large shower room.
All decor to a very high standard.
Room absolutely spotless.
Excellent bed: good nights sleep.
Will recommend without hesitation.

Looked forward to a weekend break in a nice hotel, however. Couldnt park the car in the private car park they charge you fifteen pounds for. Dirty unkept rooms, mini bar out of order, Hotel bar closes at 11pm. Breakfast disgusting, rude foreign staff that speak very little english but compaired to a weekend in prison a very enjoyable and comfortable stay!!!

We have just returned from a 2-night styay at The Continental Hotel. Firstly, on arriving there, car parking was a major issue. We drove into the car park where we told by a hotel employee that it is free for hotel guests so we squeezed into a space. As the hotel is relevantly new, the car park was not finished and they were still working on it when we left.

When we arrived in reception, the receptionist was not friendly or competent at all. We booked for 2 nights and she told us that we only booked one night, That was resolved after some checking. Then she was not able to work the credit card machine properly (that was unable to accept Switch?). She then asked where we parked our car which I replied "in the car park". She told me that it is £15 per night to park. I told her what the gentleman in the car park told us as well as saying that this was not on the website. She told us that the car park is free for gym users not hotel guests. Another colleague then got involved (who was very friendly by the way!), who told us that she would give us 1 night free parking as we were not told - BEWARE! Outside of the hotel, is meter parking only!

After spending 10-15 mins at reception (only one receptionist and some guests were already being dealt with), we we able to go to our room.

The room itself was small but had a big window that looked out to a grotty high street. The bedding had stains on it but apart from that, the room was well presented.

The hotel is very close to Hounslow shopping centre which we did not visit but looked like it had a few shops.

On leaving, the same receptionist was not very professional and we were there for another 10 minutes trying to check out while she was dealing with another irate guest. I would avoid this hotel if you can!!

  • Liked — The walk-in shower!
  • Disliked — The receptionist!

This hotel is fairly newly built/renovated and it shows, they are trying hard but the details are definately lacking.
A party of 3 had two people without a reservation, they did (after about 10 minutes) sort this out and upgraded us to a superior room.
The rooms are furnished in a modern style with light oak (or oak effect) furniture, but two of the 3 rooms had damaged furniture, presumably from getting it into the hotel, and another two had curtain rails half hanging off the wall.
There is still clear evidence of building work etc still going on (white dust) and the floors are not very good for a newly finished building.

All in all, it is a new hotel furnished in a modern style that I like, just not executed particularly well with attention to detail.

Have just returned from a weekend at the Continental hotel. The hotel had only opened five days previously so was not completely up and running. We encountered a few minor problems, such as where to park our car as the hotel car park was not opened. However the operations manager kindly arranged for us to use his car park space. We found all the hotel staff extreemley helpful. The location is fantastic. Very near to shops and tube station. Breakfast was included and of a very high standard. Rooms splendid. Overall very enjoyable and would stay there again.
