“Could be so much better”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed September 15, 2012

Good price. £190, 4 nights, twin room inclusive of buffet breakfast. There was a great selection covering pretty much anything one could wish for in the morning.
A low rise red brick complex with ample car parking. Free WiFi in public areas (reception, restaurant, bar) simply did not work on either of two phones or a laptop, so I guess it just does not work. Good sized rooms with very tired decor and an abundance of mahogany-stained furniture.
The carpet in the room bore burn marks from an iron (not included) and worryingly a large area below the wall mounted fan heater.
There was an old style CRT TV in the room as well as a Freeview box providing multichannel TV but no instructions as to how to work them.
Plenty of tea and coffee to go with a kettle that wouldn't switch off by itself (maybe because the flex was held together with electrical tape?)
Plenty of hot water to fill the bath which was crowned with a black mould and plenty of cracks in the ceiling to look at when lying back in the suds. The card operated front door opened freely - without a card - and the fire exit was permanently propped open.
The location is not great. You need to walk for fifteen minutes to get to the nearest tube/train station or drive there.
Same goes for eating somewhere other than the hotel restaurant. Also there is no need for a morning wake up call, the planes coming over at 200 feet on the way to Heathrow will take care of that, starting at 6AM.
I just can't recommend this place, really it is hampered by it's location but more importantly is desperately in need of renovation.

“Not Bad at all”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 13, 2012

We came to this hotel for the Lady Gaga concert at nearby Twickenham - had a lovely room, beds were comfortable and room very clean and not dark and dingy at all. The water pressure was not great though. As everyone says, it just the planes - they are like every 30 seconds and feels like you are at the end of the run way - and they are very loud and very close. They did stop at night and started again at 4.30am. Although we had tripple glazed windows and hardly heard anything once windows were shut. Breakfast was lovely, lots to choose from and very hot. Would defintley stay here again for an over night.

“Hell”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed September 12, 2012 via mobile

First of all it's a MOTEL, not a hotel. It is nothing like the pictures advertised. Went out the back to our 'room', dark and dingy all the way. The room looked like something out of a horror movie, the walls were a disgusting yellow smoky colour. The planes flew over the hotel every 40 seconds so close you could practically see up the pilot's nostrils, it might as well have been located on Heathrow's runway. Booked another hotel within 30 minutes, left and demanded a refund. So nope, i wouldn't recommend it.

“My Olympic Home”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 11, 2012

I stayed in this hotel for several weeks whilst working at the Olympic and Paralympic games. Whilst the hotel does need an upgrade, and it is a little dated in it's style and décor, it is clean and good value for money.

If I have one criticism it is that food was not available after 10pm, which when you have been working long hours late into the evening is somewhat disappointing. Having said that, there are plenty of local food outlets that are open until the early hours of the morning if you are desperate.

In general though, I found the staff to be friendly and helpful, the food good and not too expensive, and the room was spacious and comfortable. I would not hesitate to use this hotel again in the future.

“Does the job!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 9, 2012 via mobile

We stayed in this hotel as we were attending a gig at the near by twickenham stadium. We were looking for something that was cheap and close to the venue and in this respect the hotel did the job! A taxi to the stadium cost us £12
The room itself was beyond dated! On the plus side it was extremely clean and functional - just old! The beds were clean and very comfortable!

The planes do fly over frequently and are loud - there is no getting away from them!

All in all an okay hotel that offers a comfortable and cheap stay - just not somewhere you would want to take your other half for a romantic break!!!
