“Better Than Expected”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 27, 2013

We stayed overnight at the Heston Westbound Travelodge at the beginning of August, prior to our early morning flights from Heathrow.
We booked two family rooms and were a bit concerned prior to our visit after reading the reviews on tripadvisor. The Travelodge and the rooms were no where near as bad as we had expected, Both rooms were clean, warm and comfortable. They were dated and had obviously been well used, they could definitely do with redecoration, but for a one stay, we were happy with them and had no complaints, especially when you consider that we only paid £25 per room, which could accommodate up to four people.
The rooms were basic but included clean bedding and towels, tea and coffee facilities, a TV and even a tiny bar of soap in the bathroom, Wi-Fi can also be obtained at a cost if required.

I can't comment on the downstairs rooms, but we stayed in room 207 on the second floor and our room was fine clean and comfortable bed, sofa bed made up and carpets clean. Yes the room was tired but it was substantial. We were a family of two adults three children one a baby. The bathroom was like a travelodge bathroom clean but in need of a refurb. The services next to us were really good. It had a baby station with microwave which was really welcome for heating our milk. There was also a shop, Costa, and burger king. Overall our stay was good. Friendly staff, clean room, cheap night, and great services!

Where do I start?? Well I might aswell start from the initial walk up to the "hotel" it is a stark contrast to the lovely clean pictures on the Internet to say the very least! It's completely run down, scrapped paintwork all over the entrance doors, filthy windows and about 2 years worth of spider webs gathered. Just when I thought it couldn't get any worse, I entered my room... It got alot worse! The smell of must near put me out to begin with, the sofa bed was hideous, I would expect no human being to sleep on that at all! The carpet was wore and faded! The walls had all sorts of stains all over them, there was black mould on the roof above the cupboard, the bathroom was ok but it needed a good scrub alot of stains around the panels.. When I say stains I mean scum and finally the sink leaked at night and the bathroom was flooded every morning! The breakfast was ok, I would t advise it to anyone with a weak stomach! It was just in general the shoddiest place I've ever laid eyes on!! Last time il book anywhere without reading the reviews, and if your already too late.. Don't stay in room 251!!!!!!!

Oh how we laughed as we read all the reviews and realised the tragic truth we were actually staying in this hotel...after paying up front on the advice of a "friend" that the place was fine and not checking trip advisor for ourselves. We had 5 nights to rue the day. All previous negative comments are true an not exaggerated on other reviews. We were shocked at how appalling the place really is. It simply needs to be knocked down as is far beyond a refurb.
3* hotel....no phone. No tissues. No a/c. No food. No bar. No bloody nothing. I begged my husband to let me sleep in the car rather than return to that room but he said it was not safe. He was right. We decided to tough it out in some sort of Blighty spirit of keep calm and carry on. It wasn't easy. We were in a ground floor cell/room. The people above sounded as though they would come through the ceiling any minute. No peace at all. If you are going on a special night out or trip away this place will ruin your outing as it will put a massive damper on all proceedings. It is so very depressing. If you are on a work course or job thing you will be exhausted as you cannot rest or relax here after a busy day. It literally stinks to high heaven.
The staff have been helpful. What can they do. I feel sorry for them really. I hope anyone reading this takes our advice as it is given to prevent you from going through what we have been through. No malice intended, just the sad truth. You have been warned.

Room Tip: There are no good rooms

Parking is free. The place literally stinks. It's filthy and and shocking Travelodge put their name to this dump. All the other reviews sum it up perfectly. if you just want to spend an hour in this motel (whatever your reasons may be) you will be pleased to wipe off and get out.

We were only using as place to sleep and sheets and room we had was okay by the whole area is run down and feel sorry for the staff. The staff I saw were helpful but would not stay here again. We came in to it via the industrial estate and the Signs said no access to m4 but was not true and locals used this route to access he m4 and would go treat as race track to get to m4.

Room Tip: Pay bit more for better standard of accommodation. You pay for what you get though.

Well let's just say this place doesn't look very presentable. If you think of getting wifi don't, speed is terrible.

The eastbound is a lot better and if you take the short cut round you will get better service.

As its a travelodge you don't expect too much from them
