We had some issues with Agoda with this booking but a few emails to the hotel's revenue controller soon sorted it out - turned out that Agoda hadn't been in touch with them at all, and had told me the wrong thing. So it was a relief on arrival at the hotel after 6 hours of train travel with a large suitcase and a small child that check in went smoothly and quickly, and I was given a lovely quiet twin guestroom on the 3rd floor, non smoking as requested. No one offered to help with luggage although 3 members of staff in uniform were stationed around the check in desk, and were chatting to my son, so they knew we were there. However, once up in the lift to my room, I was pleased to find a comfy room, well lit, with a large tv and a well-equipped bathroom. Would it have killed someone to put some bottled water in the room? Mini bar fridge was locked and it was one of those dreadful ones where you can't keep your own things in there anyway, as they charge you automatically for whatever you take out, even if you don't consume it. Wifi/internet was over £14 for one day's usage which was absolutely ridiculous. Maybe they assume you are there on business and that one's company foots the bill? Not so. In this day and age I might expect to pay a small fee (Radisson hotels all offer free wifi throughout all their hotels as standard) for wifi but for a fixed cabled internet line in the room I think this charge is way beyond reasonable. In the bathroom, which was very smart, I found 3 long black hairs in the bath (I have short blonde hair) which was a little off-putting. However, our stay was comfortable and we had a good night's sleep. I met my cousin for dinner in the lobby but Aromi wasn't yet open (opens 6.30pm) so we went to Oscars where a member of staff informed us that children eat free when accompanied by a paying adult, so my son enjoyed a kids meal and drink without charge, which was just as well as main courses in Oscars are between £14-£19. My cousin also got 50% off the parking charge which she did not divulge but was obviously daylight robbery.
