“Could be so much better.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 16, 2013 via mobile

I stayed here for just one night with a wedding party.
We all had a great time and all staff and service were exceptional. Bathrooms are dated and a little scruffy.
Breakfast was the highlight, just what was needed after the night before.

After reading awful reviews on here i was so suprised at how good it was !!!
The staff were lovely, the actual place is nice and surrounded by trees, you can hardly hear the motorway.
The room was lovely and clean, bathroom great.
Fantastic room service, i highly reccomend the olives and bread and really nice chips. I wasnt too keen on the ribs but im not a huge cumin seed fan but the actual meat was tender and tasty.
A little warm in the room but i just got a fan from reception which they were happy to supply.

Room Tip: Top Floor, Room 315 was nice.

Stayed in the village hotel bank holiday weekend with our jack Russell who was made very welcome. Staff were excellent from reception to cleaners all wanted ask how we were doing and seemed genuinely interested in how we were enjoying our stay. We booked a special weekend rate which was great value including an excellent breakfast. Evening meal was great recommend the fillet steak also a mention to Liam who cooked up the best barbecue we have ever had, this was not your average BBQ food, not a sausage or a burger in sight, all quality, cooked to perfection with excellent flavours. Sometimes a little noisy but we paid triple the price of this place to stay in the Hilton Liverpool on a Saturday night and in comparison this place is pretty sedate.

Stayed here for two nights over the bank holiday weekend, was absolutely disgusted with our room, firstly we booked a double but was given a twin room and secondly the bathroom was in a complete mess, the bathtub was filled with orange and yellow rust, and there was lots of hair in the bathtub. Immediately we went back down to reception, where before we stated the problem, she already knew what the issue was, it was like a common issue. How can you issue customers facilities like this?
The receptionist was friendly and said there was another room, only one room left that we could move to, but had the same issue, but not as bad, we declined as there was a wedding happening that evening and where the room was situated was very noisy, another person came to reception and complained about the noise as her room was right next to the wedding venue&was told the loud music wouldn't stop until midnight and she was told she couldn't speak to a manager until Monday and that's when she checked out, so was pointless.
We asked if we could chose another room in the morning, which receptionist said would be ok, but we just stayed in our original room as the rooms just pretty much seemed to be in same condition.
Breakfast was included in our stay, but was not nice at all, actually came back and both my partner and I have felt sick since.
Location of hotel is about 15-20 minutes drive from Liverpool&30 minutes to Cheshire Oaks so if you stay here make sure you have a car to travel around, as there's nothing around the area.
Leisure facilities was nice, nice gym and spa, just such a shame on the actual bedroom facilities, have actually stayed with this hotel brand before in a different location and found them to have been of good quality, but this brand seems to lack the same quality.

Stayed here for 1 night for a quick break following 2 nights staying in Liverpool city centre. The gym was well equipped and large. Pool was large, and although when I went it was open to children it was big enough to let me swim. Also tried sauna and steam room which were good.
All the staff were very welcoming and pleasant, and seemed to take pride in what they were doing.
Breakfast was good, and not too expensive. We also ate in the bar for dinner and the fish and chips we had were lovely.
Only negative was being woken by some rather loud knocking and shouting in the early hours of the morning (hen party by all accounts). Despite this I would happily stay here again .

Arrived at hotel For a two night stay 3rd & 4th May 2012. great first night Hen parties obviously a speciality, but fun. Out in Liverpool for the day Saturday 4th May returning early evening, keycard blank not allowing us int the room, we got it re-assigned & got in. Sat drinking wine & enjoying our weekend away, watching TV when at 22:35 the Night Porter without knocking lets himself into our room. When challenged he said there had been a complaint of screaming, we asked "Really?" We have travelled extensively, staying in a variety of Hotels all over the world and never ever experienced anything like that before. I complained to the Duty Manager (Cara, Cassie?) next morning 5th May and was apologised to with a "he will be spoken to" only after making a very poor excuse for the behaviour we had witnessed. On checking out, our bill for wine was £0 for our inconvenience. Really have to question the night Porters motive. There were no noises or screams, we were in an end room. What if we'd been out?
