“Scooter Rally stop”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 27, 2013 via mobile

Hotel was perfect for what we were wanting. Stayed over for the scooter rally so was just looking for a bed anywhere. Location was fine for the town centre.
Room was clean and well appointed.
Breakfast was good after quite a long wait.
Would stay again and recommend to others.

My husband and I have just returned from a 7-night stay at the Ryburn. The hotel is very pleasantly situated and is beautifully maintained, with luxurious bedrooms and washroom facilities. Linda Reeves, the landlady couldn't have been more helpful and friendly. We stayed in a double room on the first floor, with a balcony. The hotel even laid on dekchairs and a coffee table so we were able to enjoy the late afternoon sun with our complimentary beverages. The bed was extremely comfortable and the shower room was spacious, with quality toiletries and towels. The breakfast was wholesome and plentiful - the service very friendly and efficient. Everything about our stay at the Ryburn was absolutely perfect and we would have no hestition in recommending this hotel to anyone. The resort itself was also excellent. Even the weather was great!

Room Tip: All the rooms were lovely

The landlady demands payment on arrival, complains of previous guests, and bombards you with lists of rules. The walls are full of printed sheets of A4 with do's and dont's. She refused to offer coffee at breakfast to one of our party because it was only for one person and she was 'too busy'. She checks bedrooms while guests are at breakfast!

In years of traveling neither myself nor my friends have ever had such a unfriendly, unjust, unprofessional and miserable B&B experience. She needs to be reported.

Dreadful.

Room Tip: Front rooms too noisy with early morning traffic

We have retuirned to the Ryburn for my wifes birthday in April, and found the place to be spotless. The breakfast may be slow but is cooked to order and is of the highest quality. We stay in the balcony room and find this matches anything to be found in Brid.
Linda is an upfront Yorkshire lass and if this comes accross as rude then so be it. We find her welcoming and pleasant.
The fact it has some off street parking is a great help these days.
So give it a go and I am sure you will be pleased.

Room Tip: Pay the extra for the Balcony room it's worth it every time.

The landlady was very rude on arrival both to ourselves and to other guests arriving. She made you feel like you just wasn't welcome from the moment you arrived. We were not allowed to park in the car park it was for her long stay guests. Payment was demanded on arrival before we were shown the room. Breakfast was ok but grilled and took nearly a hour to arrival. Would definately not recommend or return.

The smell of pets was immediate when you enter the guest house. Rooms were clean but magazines from 2008 not what you would want to read. Breakfast was ok no fried food (all grilled). Owners obviously refurbishing the place and it shows the effort they are making.
