“Good value for money but could do with a refurb”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 23, 2012

Rooms can be had for a bargain price but it is reflected in the decor - could do with a refurb. Parking on site also seems to be limited so get in early. Nice seaview and breakfast was pleasant. Also no wifi so a let down in that regards but lack of wifi seems to be an issue in most of the hotels in Brid.

Thank you for your constructive comments. We have a few rooms which need refurbishing and we will be doing some of these in our closedown in January.

There should be free wi-fi in all the public areas but we are not quite there with all the bedrooms at the moment we need a couple of boosters to complete this, but public areas should be OK.

Once again thank you for your comments.

Kind regards

Just back from my second visit this year and already booked for next year ! Felt "at home" from my very first visit. Steve gives a warm welcome as you arrive in Reception, then it's keys, info about ordering an evening meal [we're b'n'b] and we're off to the lift and our room on the 2nd floor. Our first room was at the back and close views not exciting ; ever since , we've had a room at the front with balcony overlooking the Bay. I've even been brave enough to go right up to the rails ! The room and bathroom are spotless and warm on a chilly day/night. There's a great choice of breakfasts and nothing is a bother for the staff. If you wish to stay in, there's entertainment in the evening AND a bar. Yes, it might be dated BUT it's the ambience that counts. We have no hesitation about recommending this grand old lady to anyone. ENJOY !!

Room Tip: Try for rooms overlooking the bay. On a clear night the lights twinkle from the coast- north and sou...

The staff are amazing nothing is too much. To say they bent over backwards is not high enough to describe how they went out of their way to meet our needs. The food is excellent quality simple and straight forward. The rooms were very clean with wonderful views over the beach, little train and boats. This hotel caters for elderly bus trips but perfect for toddlers as well in my opinion.

Room Tip: Sea view- my toddler was watching the tractor clean the sand begging to build sandcastles from 5 am!

We recently visited Bridlington for a quiet weekend break and stayed at
the Monarch Hotel which we found to be a lovely hotel with friendly staff,
We were given a warm welcome at reception and helped with where could park,
Our room was a big enough double with en-suite bathroom and over bath shower,
All the basics were supplied ie: kettle with tea and coffee,TV,hair dryer soap and towels,
The room was neatly decorated ( if a little dated) it was very clean and tidy,
Breakfast was pleasant with full English on offer as well as juice and cereals also there was a vegetarian option,
We were able to enjoy a reasonably priced evening meal in the Restaurant,
Easy listening entertain was supplied in the bar for a couple of hours at nights,
All in all a very nice weekend and well worth staying at this reasonably priced hotel

We are just back after a three night break over the bank holiday weekend. This was our first time to Bridlington and we were more than happy! As many note hotel is a little dated but we knew this when we booked. Our room was airy and clean, we didnt have a sea view; but not everyone can have one! What stands out at this hotel is the staff! They are the most friendly and attentive staff I have ever met. Nothing is too much trouble.
If you want designer decorations and fancy toiletries this is not the place for you but if you want a nice quite friendly Yorkshire get away this is the place for you.

Good sized basic room friendly staff typical coach party venue. Breakfast could have been better with a bit more choice of starters and fresher cooked breakfast but all in all reasonable value.
