My wife and I visited The Martonian on avFriday night whilst caravanning at a nearby site in February.
Unknown to us before arriving, we were pleasantly surprised that Friday night was one of their `Specials Nights, which was fish, chips and peas plus two drinks, all for just £10.00. Fanatastic value, and possibly the best fish and chips ever - really, really good.! Sadly though, the meal was spoiled by five or six out of control children of perhaps 7 to 9 years of age, running rampant throughout the place, which really spoiled what otherwise would have been a most enjoyable experience. I realise that these special deals pull in the punters, but because of these children' I doubt we would ever consider going there again. It was quite clear that a number of the staff were as annoyed as we were, but chose to do nothing about it. We had arrived at around 7.00 pm and left as soon as possible, by 8.00pm. What a pity. The staff were really friendly, the food was excellent and really good value, but oh those kids! Where were their parents I wonder?
