“Nice Surprise”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 9, 2011

We stayed on the 4th floor with a superb view of the beautiful beach and sea.

Wasn't impressed with Bridlington at all (tacky), however the hotel was a welcome surprise. Bedrooms are boutique style and the ensuite was huge and really well kitted out.

Hallways need a bit of updating but don't let that put you off.

Lovely breakfast with lots of choice.

Staff friendly and welcoming.

This hotel is in an excellant position facing the north bay and about 100yds from the resort amenities. We had a spacious room with wonderful views, comfy beds, comfy arm chairs, an excellant new bathroom, freeview telly and spotlessly clean. The staff are very pleasant with one or two prepared to go out of their way to help people. The meals were ample portioned but sometimes left something to be desired.Bin the tomatoe n pepper soup (its awful) brown the barnsley chops(they tasted boiled) and improve some of the choices(fishcakes and sausage are not acceptable at 52 quid a night). The desserts were delicious but repetative. This review would have been 5 but for these reasons

Just returned from a 3 night stay at the London , had a 3rd floor room with wonderfull sea views , room was very clean and well presented , breakfast was excellent , all members of staff were friendly and coul not do enough for you. Even with it's sea front location the noise levels were not enough to prevent a relaxed and peacefull nights sleep even with the window open. Will have no hesitation in returning to this hotel.

Room Tip: Room 12 had a fantastic sea view , but i believe so did the others

The new Way of the Roses bike ride starts at Morecombe and ends at Bridlington. The London is a good place to stay at the end allowing bikes to be padlocked outside or locked onto the car which meets you (!) which can either be parked right outside, or left in a public car park a stone's throw away. We had 4 rooms, all good, all with sea views and all with good showers and clean, comfortable beds. Staff were friendly and the breakfast was more than adequate but not quite 4; old-fashioned really,eg juice OR cereal. Some meal seemed to be going on early evening, but if you want to eat after 7 you need to go out and away from Bridlington for anthing resembling a restaurant! Try the Old Star at Kliham - very good food.

Room Tip: Higher the better (there is a lift)

Yes The London Hotel is in the right position, but in winter the heating should be on at night in the bedrooms especially for my 91 year old mother who almost needed medical attention because she was so cold. The owner was less than helpful and obviously would have rather been elsewhere. I wasn`t happy I had to pay in full some weeks before our stay. On arrival the steps at the front of the hotel were covered in ice. Very difficult for a 91 year old. Also told no evening meals so had to go out in terrible conditions to eat elsewhere. Very clean, but not sure where the four stars come from. Will be staying where we had the evening meal next time which was very warm and very friendly.

Stayed at The London and had no problem parking outside the property. The guest house is in a very enviable location with each room having a sea view. Breakfast and evening meal are fine, the waitress very friendly. All rooms are cleaned to a high standard. The lady of the establishment is very nice, however her husband doesn't look as if he really wants to be there, I get the impression from him it is purely business and it is 'just a job', he is not the most friendliest of hosts and lacks common courtesy - a shame really as I think he lets the place down.
On the whole, I have stayed in worse places but have stayed in alot better for the price

Just returned from a few days at The London which was most enjoyable. Our room was on the 4th floor overlooking the sea, fantastic. Almost eye to eye contact with the seagulls cruising around in front of the window and to wake up every morning with the sun streaming through (the weather was just perfect too) what more could you wish for. Could not fault this hotel, good food, great spot, comfy bed, friendly hosts. Would recommend a visit to Bempton Cliffs, Flamborough Head (although disappointed the lighthouse was closed for repairs) Bridlington Old Town and a must do ride on the Land Train to Sewerby Hall and Gardens. Need to go back to Bridlington as there is so much more to see and do around this coast, at least we know a good hotel now!
