“Lovely little shop and eating place”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 24, 2012

We tripped over the is place by accident and were delighted with our find. The restaurant and tea shop is an ideal place for a sit down and a break, and the food is well cooked and inviting.
Good baked potatoes - though my coronation chicken was more like tikka chicken - and lovely tea and cakes.

“Good Food, Very Ordinary Service”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 16, 2012

Visted the Rowan Tree following a recommendation from friends. Expectations were set that although this place is an "upmarket-kind-of-cafe" and that its probably the best place to eat in Bridlington. We popped in on-spec at 2.30ish on a Saturday afternoon.

The food was great, nice ingredients, well cooked.

The service we recieved however, was pretty poor. We entered the premises, were not greeted by anyone, spent a good five minutes figuring out we needed to seat ourselves, help ourselves to menus and order at the counter. During our entire time at the Rowan Tree, there were no acknowledgments of our presence, we were never spoken too by any of the girls working there nor any eye contact made what-so-ever.

To sum up. Be prepared to figure out this place and the "set-up" for yourselves once you arrive, dont expect any of the staff to look at you or assist you in anyway. The food is good, but I wouldnt go out of my way to return.

“place to relax and enjoy good food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 11, 2012

My husband and I often have lunch there it is a friendly rlaxing place and the food is really good. Not the typical cafe/restaurant food all prepared beautifully something for everyone no matter what your taste. my particular favourite is the brie and cranberry toastie the salad dressing is really nice ....must ask for the recipe....Their special evening nights are very good too.
