“Great for business or room only stay.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 1, 2006

I stayed in this hotel which is in Crowthorne as it is on the same road as a hen party I went to. I got a single value room at £27 including breakfast in the new extension block. The room was modern and nicely decorated, bathroom small but very clean, nice big TV (not sattelite!). Negetive points were the bedding - was a sheet with old fashioned blanket and a throw which didn't match the decor, a window which overlooks the main road and as it was warm I had to sleep with the window open so noise was an issue. As it was a saturday night there was a wedding reception going on and if you don't mind being overtaken by wedding guests or falling asleep to 'mustang sally' or 'wake up maggie' then this is a good place to stay!! Breakfast also very varied and very friendly staff who went out of their way to help despite the busy wedding guests. Friendly cleaners too although they looked about 80! I would definately stay here again - it's more of a stop off hotel for business rather than a weekend getaway. Great if you want to visit Windsor and Sandhurst etc.

  • Liked — Cheap!
  • Disliked — Noise from wedding party
  • Tips/Secrets — Check if there is a wedding on and ask for larger room if claustrophobic - get to breakfast early!

A much extended Victorian building, this hotel is well located for both business and those wishing to visit the Reading/Bracknell areas. Just 10 minutes from the M3 Junction 4, it has good facilities, although no leisure luxuries such as a pool or gym. It does, however, have a very large bar and patio area and an excellent restaurant. There were large TVs in all public rooms including restaurant (although restaurant one was never on during my 2 day stay). There is also plenty of parking. I stayed in the newer part in a so called executive room which is typical of the room one would expect to find a modern hotel - King Size bed, TV, en suite etc, but no air con. Cleaning was to very high standard. There were quite a lot of steps to get to the newer rooms, so could be difficult for disabled or those with young children (there may be more accessible rooms, I didn't check). I would not take young children to this hotel. Food was reasonably priced and good quality. All staff very polite and friendly

Got an excellent deal for a bank holiday weekend (£29.00 a night!)and was pleasantly surprised by the hotel. Nice setting ( about 4 miles from Bracknell so bear this in mind if that is where you want to be) in a pleasant village with some lovely walks/runs in the nearby woods. Staff very welcoming and food reasonably priced. Will stay again if I get another good deal.

The hotel is in Crowthorne which is a little bit out of Bracknell - an issue if you get caught up in the horrendous rush hour traffic in the morning. It is a good, standard, quality chain hotel with an atmospheric bar and restaurant. The rooms I have stayed in have always been of a high standard for this price, of a decent size and clean.
