“Very pleased”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 12, 2013

A nice place to dine out, clean, spacious and pleasantly laid out. Selection of drinks is good and the menu list offers a wide range of choices. We opted for the small carvery which turned out to be very good value and, again, the wide range of veg. etc. gave us a really enjoyable dinner. Well worth the visit.

“Rude bar maid!!!!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 5, 2013

Been to applewood loads of times and was surprised to find water fold was only round the corner.food as ever was excellent and found it quite strange to find the decor the excact same so much so id say everythings the same.but i feel i must coment on the most rude member of and workplace i think iv ever encounterd.she was not only rude to me but horrible to her work mates.it started when i orderd a banoffe dessert unbeknown to me there was two kinds and instead of asking she threw the wrong one in a bag i instently said i thought it was the wrong one so she snached it back and started punching the keys on the till without a word or even looking up.another member of staff realised and passed me the correct one.she still said nothing or looked up so i thanked the pleasant lady and went on my way.im just cross i didnt say anything.but if the manager wants to know who it was she has dark her slim but pregnant.i look forward to a response tricia

“Lovely Pub”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 17, 2013

Found this pub while staying at a hotel across the way.
Went for a drink at lunchtime when they were busy serving food. Didnt eat but food looked good and plentiful.
Had a cake selection to make your mouth water!!! Also a cake take away service was available too.
Went back over for an evening drink and found the pub to be very quiet at this time even though it was a Friday night. Staff helpful and friendly. Would like to visit to try food sometime or at least a super cake!!!

“Wasn't Impressed”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed April 16, 2013

I took my Partner and young son today for a meal out. I ordered the Big Mixed Grill and asked for my steak well done but when it arrived it was medium rare and other parts of my meal e.g. black pudding, peas and mushroom were cold. It was a nice atmosphere but felt let down by service and the in-ability to serve a "hot" meal.

“Not bad”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed March 30, 2013 via mobile

We went today..Saturday around 2:30 for the carvery. Hubby and daughter. 2 small carverys and a standard one. Spent about £23 with drinks. No one was at the carvery so I asked the barmaid. The chef then came out. I got some Turkey and Ham,had roast potato, sprouts, parsnips, cabbage brocolli and calif. yorkshire pud and gravy. It tasted ok but was cold. i nearly did put my plate in the microwave thats there for baby food! Didnt tho. Had stomach ache all night..wondering if its from there?!

Might be a while before we bother going back there.
