Slow service and when it did finally arrive most of it was virtually stone cold. I had a fish that was advertised as being either cod or haddock, when we asked after it was ordered which it was, it was neither. It was a cod relation they had as the alternative they said, something I had never heard of. I was told that if I had been there before the new menu then it would have been this fish they served. Funny that because when I had the fish the last time nobody mentioned it was not cod or haddock. The obvious cheap relation fish was still sold at the same price as the dearer cod and haddock. It wasn't very big but to be fair tasted OK. On checking this out now it is more commonly known as the Vietnamese catfish which most of us will have heard of. Her indoors had something that pertained to be a Lancashire Hot Pot. It came in a very small dish and wasn't even half full. It wasn't enough to feed a five year old let alone an adult, We had already complained whilst eating the meals and the best they could offer was to take it back and take it off the bill. We weren't prepared to spend any more time waiting for yet more cold stuff. The hot-pot by the way we were told afterwards was made off-site, so that was in effect £11.25 for a ready meal that was poor quality,of miniscule proportions and that they couldn't even warm up properly. I think if they took that excuse for a LHP to Lancashire they'd be lynched. With dessert, two of these was asked to be served hot. Now bearing in mind they already knew that we had an issue with the mains that were cold, you would have thought that they would have served these hot. But no, they were luke warm at best. We appeared not to be the only ones complaining at the time of our visit. The duty manager was a bit nonchalant and offered 20% off the bill. Not enough considering the poor quality, still, we'll never be going back to a Marston's pub ever again.
