“Nice Hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 11, 2013

Stayed for two nights between Christmas & New Year for a relaxing break.
Very nice hotel, with ample free parking. Public areas and bedroom clean & well decorated.
Staff all very friendly & helpful. Food excellent.

Our only critisism is that unfortunately the room we were allocated was near reception and the
function room. Noise from the functions ment it was not worth trying to sleep until past 1am. There was also noise into the early hours from the adjacent corridor fire doors & the late night taxis picking up the revellers from the front of the hotel.

We would return, but would request rooms distant from the reception & not overlooking
the hotel entrance.

Hotel requested customer feedback and to his credit the manager has responded, apologising for the inapropriate room allocation.

I am very glad that you enjoyed your stay, but we really should have tried to find a more suitably located room especially as you were staying for 2 nights.
Please remember that you do not have to suffer in silence as we would rather you had a fully comfortable stay.

When you are next visiting the area , please do not hesitate to contact me in the first instance.

Despite all of this , thank you for your kind words, and I look forward to hearing from you again , in due course.

Yours Sincerely

John Macaskill.

Excellent value hotel especially if you get a deal/package. Based on a lovely country house. Extensive grounds and an excellent swimming pool on site. Food is first class and there is a very nice restaurant and bar. Lounge has a warm log fire. Staff fall over themselves to be helpful. Breakfast is first class. Going during week days avoids wedding groups. A very relaxing and quiet hotel with very nice rooms. Lots of lovely villages and towns to visit nearby. Just look out for special deals and offers. You will not be disappointed.

Room Tip: Bewdeley and Hay on Wye make excellent day trips.

Stopped by the mercies in Kidderminster when looming at venues for an event. It was a strange hotel, beautiful grounds. The interior was dated yet strangely stylish. I say in the bar drinking vodka as usual. I found the staff eectremely friendly and helpful. Able to have a conversation with people and very polite! Would visit here again if in the area

We stayed here with our 14mnth old son and my dad. We each had huge rooms, a a double, and 2 singles and a sofa in front of the tv. The room was clean and tidy. There was a wedding on but we were not kept awake by any noise as it was in the basement. The gym along side the hotel that is free to use was a nice, but especially the kids pool that was warm enough for our son and he enjoyed immensely. Staff were very friendly and helpful while the breakfast was very good, but I didn't need to eat until dinner time, and great fry up.

We are delighted that the whole family , including your baby son, were able to enjoy the facilities of the Hotel and the Health Club. Watch out for the pamper breaks - a real treat.

My friend and I booked a 2 night stay after seeing an offer in a local paper. We paid £64 each, this included our breakfast on both mornings and dinner on the first night, as well as use of the swimming pool, Jacuzzi, steam room and sauna.
The food was excellent, at all meal times, we also had a sandwich when we arrived which was delicious. The pool was large and all areas were clean. The staff in the hotel were very friendly and helpful and booked us a meal at a local restaurant and also organised a taxi for us. The room was a good size and so was the bathroom. The bed was very comfortable as were the pillows. We really enjoyed our stay and found it very relaxing. Would definitely recommend

I couldn't be more pleased that you took advantage of a special weekend rate and you both enjoyed it so much. You have to make the most of them when they come around - keep your eyes peeled for the next one !!

I hate - hate - not being trusted. Having to pay bit by bit for everything as they, despite having address details and my life history, give the impression that you are going to "do a runner". Had a nice larger room (43 i recall) but it was freezing when we arrived so we had to arrange a heater. Brought begrudgingly.
A hotel, for me, is more about its staff than the building or decor. The chap we met at the bar, a tall chap in his early 50s was far from impressive. They had a large party of 30 eating at the same time as us and, from our position, they could barely cope.
The place was cold and, despite asking for a fire to be lit it remained unlit. Food took over and hour to arrive after it was ordered and it was not good. We were waited on by at least four different staff members all of which were poor. Main meal dishes not cleared away by the time pud arrived and cutlery arriving after the meals.
Breakfast, which seems to be to be a con as it was extra to the booking and I was not offered it via the online booking form and the Eggs Benedict turned up with a skin on the sauce and I had to ask to be looked after, after we were, again, overlooked. To top it all off a bottle of Speckled Hen was £4.80. This is just rude. Won't be returning.

Clearly, I too would be not too happy with that level of service , and I extend my profuse
apologies to you.

However, , with regard to the chargeing process, you should have been given an option when checking in to pre-authorise your credit card for any charges made, thus avoiding the 'runner' scenario as you can sign for any items of your choosing up to the value of your authorisation. I hope this may help you in the future.

Myself and my partner stayed at this hotel on a kgbdeal for two nights. We had a very lovely time at this hotel and found that the staff are very friendly and attentive and when we first arrived we were offered a tour, which we thought was very lovely. Our room was of an excellent standard considering the amount we paid for our stay, the bed was very comfortable, my only issue was the pillows on the bed but that is my preference and not a fault to the hotel. The bathroom was quite large and very clean. We had dinner included on our deal and we had the choice of a set menu or we could choose from the normal menu. The food was lovely and of a very good quality and we personally didnt think the drinks in the bar we too expensive either. The weather was not very good whilst we were there, however we did manage to have a quick look at the grounds surrounding the hotel and they were beautiful and very well kept.

We also had use of the swimming pool, jacuzzi, steam room and sauna which were all very clean and well kept, there were a lot of members at the health club at the same time as us but we were not treated any different to them and we were still offered the same services.

We would recommend this hotel to everyone except perhaps people with young children as they probably wouldnt find much to do here. One last comment would be that this hotel would perhaps be suited better to people who drive. Although there is a bus stop just outside the hotel it is be much more convenient and easier if you could drive :)

Room Tip: Our room was on the ground floor quite close to reception, however we never experienced any disrupti...

Thank you for such nice words, and I am delighted you enjoyed your stay to the full. We most certainly look forward to seeing you again and we'll provide the sunshine this time.!!

However, children may want to know that the Health Club has a separate baby pool, and of course just opposite the Hotel is the West Midland Safari Park and Fun Fair.
