My friends and I had decided to go for one last night out before parting ways for university. As La Tasca in New Brighton is such a nice location, having a view of Liverpool over the Mersey, we decided to go there.
Firstly, our table was lovely. I booked us in as a group of six and we were given a round table by the window; if you're thinking of visiting, try to get this seat at it is definitely the nicest. As the restaurant is right by the river, it is not as warm as other tapas restaurants, but the view somewhat compensates for this.
The service was very good; our waiter, David, was very friendly and the drinks and food arrived relatively quickly. The food itself was very good - rather on the spicy side - and the tapas format means there's a good selection.
With regards to price, it is certainly not the cheapest of the restaurants in New Brighton (each small dish is £5 approx. whereas you can get a whole meal for that in the Seahorse nearby). However, for a night out with friends where you're prepared to pay a little bit more, it is very enjoyable and I would definitely recommend the place.
