“Let down by microwaved food.”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed April 11, 2014

I ate here with family the other day and whilst overall I'll say it's okay pub food there was some major issues.
The menu is extensive and covers all bases without problem. Ordering food and drinks was one problem....I hate it when you have people waiting at a bar and the staff say can you come over here to be served. Why? They should come to me or get rid of the bar as it's a waste of time.
When the food arrived, which was in good time, there was plenty of it and looked good.
My wife had one of their veggie options (cauliflower and something tart) and she swears it was microwaved, not good.
I had a Bombay Bad Boy burger which was nice and tasty but not exactly hot and spicy, more mild and spicy. Still I did enjoy it so no real issue.
One surprising thing was that the staff removed the 'bucket' of sauces not long after our food arrived. Why? Please get one per table.
Overall as a Hungry Horse it's pretty much standard fare at a reasonable price but they need to address some of the issues before I'd return.

“Nice food, slow service”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 10, 2014

We ate here a couple of weeks ago in the early evening. Had to wait 15 mins which was ok as there was plenty of seating in the bar area. We all had different meals including the chicken skewers and steak dishes. Good deal on for 2 or 3 courses, and a varied special every night. Good food, tasty and fresh. Dessert was lovely but had to wait 45 mins even though it wasn't that busy by then. Would definitely eat here again but not if I was short on time.

“Poor service - even poorer service”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed March 16, 2014

Was told we would have to wait for 20 minutes which I didn't mind doing for a table. After 40 minutes I went to ask how much longer and they had forgotten about us. Ordered from set menu with half of the starters unavailable. Was overcharged on the meal by a member of staff who said she was bored and couldn't wait to go home.

Starters arrived and looked nothing like the picture and whilst edible were not pleasant.

For pudding the porfitilos were as hard as a brick and my syrup sponge was very hot served with cold custard. A very disappointing meal and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.
