Table for 13 adults and 4 children - Family 30th Birthday party - Place chosen as good for kids with the play area.
Firstly, we arrived in good time for our 2pm booking - We were asked to wait in the bar area whilst our table was being prepared / whilst we waited for the table they had allocated to us to become free - despite our booking! They were a little under staffed in the bar area - especially considering it was St Patrick's day.
At 3:15 (!!!!) we were seated, and all quite hungry by this point - especially the 4 small children! Once ordered there was quite a wait for the food but as we were a large party that is justifiable. However one of our meals did not arrive - despite asking 3 times if it was on it's way - still nothing. On the 4th time of asking, it turned out it was not on it's way at all and had to be re ordered, therefore prolonging the wait even further. A complimentary add on to the meal was offered. The meal continued slowly - ordering and waiting for deserts etc but service was OK.
By this time it was quite late but when booking the table we were reassured it was free for us to stay and relax until 7pm, and there were no bookings for our table before then. HOWEVER, at 6pm a waitress came and told us all there was another party waiting to use our table for a 6pm booking so wanted to know how much longer we were going to be! - baring in mind it was already 6 pm! so the people waiting for the table were in for the same wait we were before being able to sit down, due to the poor organisational skills at this restaurant; if there is a booking at 6pm - the table should be ready for 6pm - not still full with people and plates/glasses etc. And in light of the 6pm booking we should have been informed of this well before this time, as we were under the impression we could stay in the area we booked until 7pm. As it was clear we were not ready to leave then and there the waitress directed us to the bar area for the remainder of our time - which wasn't a problem, but it was annoying as it would have been nice to have been told we would need to relocate at 6pm when we got there, (or even 10 minutes before would have been better!)
good = the TV in the booth seating area for the children - with the play area the place is very child friendly
bad = organisational skills!!! the staff were friendly but clearly no common sense when it comes to planning their table bookings.

Sorry to read that you were not 100% satisfied with your recent visit.
The Churchill cater for large parties quite often over the weekend periods, anything from 12 - 50 people at one time and we pride ourselves on doing it well.
Every Sunday we put time limits on tables as we get very busy and need to turn over the tables accordingly, we offer all tables a 2 hour time slot @ 12pm 2pm 4pm & 6pm and never deflect from this, so i am very suprised that you were offered a table for 4 hours.
We at The Churchill aim to get Fresh Hot Food out as quick as we can and on Sunday 17th theh longest table took 32 mins for main courses to arrive which reflects on how busy we were, if you feel that that was to long then please accept my appologies.
I completley agree that you should have been informed that your table was needed back at 6pm and you should have been made aware of this on your arrival and on the time of your booking.
We at The Churchill can only make what we offer better by recieving such feedback, i will use your review in any future training that we do.
If you would like to discuss the matter in any detail, please feel free to contact me direct.
Best Wishes Paul & The Churchill Team
