“Perfect Anniversary Location”

Spinneycross

May 10, 2007

My wife and I stayed at Spinney Cross for our 35th Wedding
Anniversary on 6th May 2007.Dot and Michael could not have
been more excellent hosts. We would recommend this
establishment to anyone who would like to be pampered
and enjoy fabulous views, delicious food, and luxurious
surroundings.
Spinney Cross is ideally situated for visiting Bath and the
Wiltshire attractions and although it has an AA 5 star rating
we think that should be increased to a 10 star rating.
You must try it and we are sure you will agree.
We will be returning as often as possible.

I was a bit concerned that there have been no reviews for the Spinney Cross since 2004 but I need not have worried - it was all that I was hoping for and much more.

Dorothy & Michael were the perfect hosts - after being shown around our luxury bedroom, huge en-suite (with corner bath) and private patio, Dorothy offered us a glass of wine to start the holiday off, whilst we were trying to decide what to select for breakfast from the delicious menu.

The guest house is very small, with only 2 letting rooms but this makes it feel all the more personal. The location is fantastic - in the middle of the countryside but only a short bus ride from the centre of Bath.

I have already booked a return visit for November with friends - what more can I say?

I stayed at this hotel in November 2006 and it was a perfect getaway. The owner Dorothy, was away the weekend we stayed but we were met and looked after brilliantly by her daughter Jo. Nothing was too much trouble for her. The hotel is about 6/7 miles from Bath and she advised us that the bus at the end of the lane went straight into the centre for about £3 return. If taking a taxi expect to pay about £15 one way. I had read reviews of the smoked salmon breakfast and was not dissapointed. The location of this hotel is stunning, there are lovely views from the bedrooms and dining room across the valley. Even in late November it was amazing. If you are planning to visit Bath then this hotel is an absolute must. Restaurants in Bath during our stay included the wonderful Loch Fyne,(absolutely fantastic). All in all, a fabulous weekend and one we will definately be repeating

My husband and I stayed at Spinneycross in Nov 2006. I can truly say that this was one of the best B&B we have been to. Its location is excellent, so near to the town centre of Bath yet away from all the hussle and bussle of the city. The house has a beautiful modern decor. Our room was large, elegant and luxurious with lush confortable bedding. Breakfast was excellent overlooking beautiful views. If you are looking for a romantic place to relax and visit the beautiful city of Bath this is definately the place to go to.

“Spinney cross is a hidden gem”

I recently had occasion to stay at Spinney Cross in Kingsdown, Bath. I notice that it is not listed on Trip Advisor - but it should be! It's a beautiful place to stay - my room was modern, spacious and spotlessly clean. It is rightly described as Luxury accommodation in the local tourist book. The views from Spinney Cross are magnificent - overlooking a valley which leads into Bath - the view at night is quite spectacular too with all the lights. The proprietor, Dot, made me most welcome and encouraged me to relax in the garden if I so wished. The breakfast was magnificent and the room price very modest for what's on offer. I shall certainly be recommending Spinney Cross to all my friends and hope to make a return visit some day.
