Hidden off the market place, is this surprising exhibition of items discovered in the local area- mainly from the Iron and Bronze Ages and Roman times. Very clearly laid out with explanations which are clear and easy to read. Cases holding artifacts are interspersed with boards with diagrams and information. Set in four interconnected houses it is a maze of rooms but that adds to the discovery element. More recent heritage items are also on display, particularly with archeological links. The Saxon display is undergoing refurbishment which is not yet complete - so it was reduced admission- well worth it. We plan to return for the grand official opening when the revamped section is reopened. If you have a spare hour, pop in, it will add to your visit to the ancient historical Wiltshire sites

Thank you for your kind review. We have now re-opened the Saxon gallery and the Medieval one will follow shortly! We are on track to open our new galleries in mid-October. I hope that you will come back to see us then!
