“Professional Pleasure”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 19, 2013 via mobile

Stayed at the Castle Inn while attending a professional racing event in Castle Combe and have to say it was an absolute pleasure. During my racing career I have stayed in many hotels around the world but this little inn real was a gem in the Wiltshire crown!

From the fantastic pre comm's with the lovely receptionist Gemma (who accommodated every request made) to the fantastic waitering services of Florin and Daniel the whole stay was enjoyable and professionally executed. The food was fantastic and I got to stay in the picturesque room 9 which had been beautifully furnished.

Would highly recommend to any future racing professionals/agents - locality is amazing.

Can't thank the team there enough!

The Castle inn Hotel is a pub / hotel at the centre of the small village used as a back drop for period films, the latest was War horse. The hotel has 11 rooms each room has character and ours was clean and well furnished. The English breakfast is very good but the continental option was a little bland. The 'Pub food' is just that, but is reasonably priced if you want gourmet food and wine the Manor House hotel is where you should go albeit our meal was £60 per head plus drinks. The only down side to staying at the Castle Inn is there is no guaranteed parking, there is a few parking spaces on the road but you need to be lucky to get one. You can arrange to park in the Manor House car park adjacent but at a cost of £5 per 24 hours. The hotel staff are very friendly and helpful and I would recommend this hotel for a peaceful romantic short stay.

Room Tip: We stayed in a standard room but this was very good just watch the timber beams if your over 5 foot...

We stayed in room 7, for 1 night on 3rd January 2013.
Incredible staff were welcoming and nothing was too much trouble.
Beautiful location, picturesque village, ideal for walks and photos.
Incredible food, a good selection of breakfast options, dinner was exquisite and cream tea for lunch was delicious.
Luxurious bedrooms ( we upgraded to 4 poster bed)
Found a deal on groupon so was an absolute bargain.
Would definitely visit again.

We went to the Castle Inn for New Year's Eve, expecting a Pub with rooms & were amazed at the small charming hotel we found. Each room was individual and nicely furnished. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful and a couple of minor problems we encountered were dealt with quickly and efficiently & in a very polite & friendly manner. The food in the Restaurant was excellent and all in all we had a very enjoyable three days at a very reasonable price.

We stayed (3 couples) for three nights including New Years Eve.
On arrival we were cheerily greeted by the so-friendly receptionist who made us feel very welcome.
We were shown to our rooms, which do vary in size and brightness considerably.
My wife and I had room 12 which was nicely bright with a large, ever so comfortable bed. The bath/shower room was certainly adequate - although a shaving mirror would not go amiss.
We ate breakfast and two night's dinners in their restaurant and the food was excellent, with all hot breakfast dishes cooked to order.
The bar was well stocked with two local ales on tap.
All the staff were excellent but special mention must be made of Claudio, who seemed happy to go the extra mile in terms of service!
Our huge thanks to everyone at the Castle Inn for making our short break so enjoyable.

Room Tip: Room 12 is one of the biggest, but beware of the sloping ceiling! Room 3 is a four-poster but not d...
