You cant fail to be impressed by this fantastic monument. Everyone tries to work out how why and who. It has a mystical feel about it . The centre is great and informative.

“Stonehenge: As Impressive as Hoped”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 23, 2013

Though almost high-season (late June 2012), Stonehenge on a breezy afternoon
was even better than expected. There was space and time to move around and to
take silly pictures. There were fields nearby for the long view away from tourists.
The architectural massing and engineering were impressive from all sightings. The
bus from the Salisbury bus station was reasonable and not too crowded and gave us a flexible
schedule. I believe it also gave us our stop at Old Sarum Castle, near Salisbury.

“History present at its best.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 22, 2013

You can see the stone from the road on your approach but I would recommend a close up visit to the whole site which has a history guide well worth a visit and the headphones telling the historical tale was very helpful. Good gift shop and cafe. Expect to be their for 1-2 hours depending on your interest in history.

“This is a must see...”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 22, 2013

I have always wanted to see the stonehenge, but with anything you hype it up and sometimes are not amazed when you finally see it. This is not the case for the stonehenge. Our tour only allowed us to be there about 15-20 minutes but what time we spent there I was in total awe of this stone structure. The lighting was diffused with an overcast, and it was a perfect day to get some great pictures! I am glad that they have left the land around the stonehenge open to keep the illusion that you are walking back in time. I also saw that a new visitor's center is being built, and I am glad that they spaced it far enough away from the henge to not cause a distraction from the subject itself. I highly recommend going here, it was definitely a worth while experience!

“Worth the trip-even if short”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 22, 2013

The hedge was pretty cool. It was larger then I expected and the audio tour made it more interesting. You only need 30 minutes to an hour max.

Unfortunately i went right after a snow fall, and so much of the path around the hedge was closed. I guess they think snow is really dangerous. that was annoying because I could only see the hedge from a small area.

If you dont want to pay the entrance fee of 7.50 per adult, there were people parked on the road just taking photos over the fence. Not a bad idea really and I'm sure with a little zoom their photos were as good as mine.

The little cafe there does actually have some good food and drink as well.
