“Inspected property and did not stay”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed November 23, 2013 for a stay in August 2013

The bedroom is simply not suitable and potentially quite dangerous with a very low ceiling (about 5 foot) , unforgiving concrete roof with the addition of two metal hooks. There is no blackout, little space around the bed. Not the cleanest property we have stayed in.
Owner promised to return our money but this never happened.

“Great Valuew homely appaartment”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 23, 2013 for a stay in November 2013

What a great base for a walking holiday. An easy walk to Hebden town centre which had everything you could need and there were three good day walks to do without moving the car. The flat itself was warm (in November) and had all the facilities we needed. The owner was there when we arrived and was very friendly and helpful. (Deposit was returned promptly after stay)

“Cosy, quirky, affordable little place with lots of facilities.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 20, 2013 for a stay in November 2013

We both had a great time in this lovely little place. in a quiet location. The kitchen is very well equipped and the lounge had a lovely cosy feel. Great TV, good choice of DVDs, books and games. The bedroom, although the ceiling is low, you don't have to bend too much to get in the comfy bed and there is lots of storage space. Clean bedding and towels provided with extra touches such as guests soap and shampoo. The place was very clean and we were lucky enough to have some sunshine to sit outside with views of the hills.
There is so much to see and do we couldn't fit it all in,it is only 5 minutes walk to the town. Looking forward to my next visit in the summer and would definitely book this property again.

“Poor electrics and unclean”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed November 8, 2013 for a stay in October 2013

The cooker and oven packed up when we arrived. We think maybe the circuit had been overloaded and this made us a bit wary of the rest of the electrics in the place. It wasn't very clean, the oven was dirty and we were not sure that the linen was fresh. The owners refunded our money and we stayed a couple of nights in a b&b and on the floor of a friends. We couldn't stand up in the bedroom because the ceiling was too low. The table in the kitchen was too small for us all to sit around. It was cheap but we expected better and would not recommend staying.

We provided a full refund. we appreciate feedback from our guests however there are some inaccuracies. As soon as our guests arrived in the evening the hob unfortunately malfunctioned, we have replaced this the first morning of our guests stay. The oven was actually working I turned it on to show the guest how it worked and there is also a small halogen oven, and electric grill and microwave. The guest also thought that the hot water in the bathroom wasn't working but there was a safety switch turned off and it did work. The electric circuit has been tested and is working correctly.

Fresh clean bedding is always provided for each new guest. One oven and the area behind the settee had unfortunately been overlooked by our cleaner and we have sorted this issue out, the rest of the property was clean. Currently there is a small table in the kitchen for 2 people, there is also 2 extra folding chairs and a table and chairs in the garden. We are soon to put a bigger table in the kitchen.

As advertised unless you are under 5ft you cannot stand up in the bedroom, it is an enclosed mezzanine floor. We aim to provide an affordable and comfortable place to stay in Hebden Bridge, we are sorry for the unforeseen cleaning issue and the malfunction of the hob.

“Quaint !”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 2, 2013 for a stay in September 2013

Once inside the property (!!) ..delighted to be welcomed by a lovely bunch of flowers on the kitchen table. The central heating was on although it was very warm for late Sept in west Yorkshire. The let has an amazing amount of kitchen gear., plus a top class TV, plus loads of dvds and novels. The duvet was great and nice to have thick towels. I found shaving tricky as the lighting in the shower room, for me, was a bit indirect.. The bedroom has a low ceiling coupled with a high step made getting into bed tricky . A chair in the bedroom to put clothes on would be a very useful addition. .On the website the let's address is simply "Hobbit Hole" Princess St. There's no name plate on the property to that effect . In fact it's no. 6 so why isn't that put in the details? plus as far as I could see no post code was listed.Had to ring the owner to find the key as the initial info I was given on line was incorrect.
Regarding a recommendation, fine for young short clients, tricky for older tall clients.

Thanks for your review, they are always welcome and enable us to respond to any issues raised.A step into the bedroom has now been added so its not a high step up and a lighted mirror has been put into the shower room.We have also put a chair in the bedroom. Unfortunately there is not much we can do about the bedroom ceiling height.
