“One of the most Amazing Walks in Britain!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 13, 2013 via mobile

You can download this walk from the Internet which takes you from the Tourist Information Centre, along the canal, up over the hills, through some ancient woodlands and along a cliff to Heptonstall. Wonderfully historic little village with fascinating church ruins and intriguing graveyard. Very atmospheric! Then walk back into Hebden Bridge for a wonderful a huge roast dinner at eat at the recently refurbished Old Gate pub where there must be 30 different ales and beers on tap! Superb day out!

“Historic Heptonstall”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 6, 2013

Good place for a walk with the dogs, ample parking, miles of footpaths ( OS map OL 21) and 2 pubs in the village when you return. The Church and grave yard are interesting to stroll around.

“I just love this village”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 21, 2012

Heptonstall is not somewhere that would normally catch the imagination and it's certainly not something that you would stumble upon by accident. The local history, the walks onto the hills, the general ambience and the local pub make this a special place to me.

“Haworth without the tourists”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 21, 2012

An almost completely unspoilt pre-industrial revolution hilltop village that echoes haworth but minus the brontes;the views from the top of the crags at the edge of the village is a must for the strongwilled(no safety fences!)The small cafe in the heart of the village is a delight as is the school museum
