“Brilliant Service, adequate food”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 23, 2012

We visit every Saturday following a shopping expedition and the barman knows us and brings our regular bottle of wine to our table without being asked. We and my partner usually share a platter of olives, chips and seafood that always fills us up. The food is nice without being outstanding but it is a very welcoming place and I have found the staff to be courteous and efficient. There are plenty of tables both inside and out so unless you are very unlucky you will usually find a table and would think you would enjoy your dining experience.

“ok ish”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 2, 2012

We stayed at the Premier Inn and this was next door. The sun was shining and it was pleasant to have a beer in the evening sunshine. When we ate, we always had a long wait for service. Many people complained to the staff of the food being cold. I found the chips soggy (not been cooking at a high enough temperature). My daughter is a vegetarian and there was a very limited choice for her (3 dishes). We only really ate there because of the location and because we didn't fancy a drive elsewhere. main problem not enough staff

“Lovely food and great service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 22, 2012

Myself and my husband had a meal here for his birthday on a Friday lunchtime. There were plenty of customers in the pub but as it is so big you didn't feel like it was busy. Service was excellent and food was delicious. So much so that my husband sampled mine and asked me to replicate it for tea at home! I had a pretty good go at it and it didn't turn out too bad. For a chain pub the food is way above average! Definitely try it, you will be pleasantly surprised!

“Pleasantly surprised!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 13, 2012

We called for a drink and decided to have a meal but didn't expect too much from a themed pub which is part of a chain. How wrong we were. My partner had a superb Greek salad that would have fed three, and I had rib of beef which wouldn't have disgraced a top restaurant. Service was prompt and attentive too although it was quiet so not open to judgement at busy times. We'll be trying the Old Mill again for sure.

“Nice place but don't expect to be served quickly”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed August 4, 2012 via mobile

We are regulars at the old mill and like the place for its good food, good value and nice atmosphere. Recently we have noticed speed of service was slow but willing to give our old faithful the benefit of the doubt we decided to make another visit.
A 15 min wait for drinks, then over an hour for our starters while tables who ordered after us were enjoying their meals, poor excuse from our waiter and a half hearted apology for the delay, then to be over charged on the bill we felt quite short changed.
