“Beautiful views, Quiet secluded getaway, A must stay!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 days ago NEW

Casa Del Soul is a beautiful home opened up to guests in an upscale area of SJDS. There is quietness that you couldn't ask more for, ie., no roosters, daily 6am marching/singing parades, fire crackers at all hours of day/night. We stayed in the ocean front room which was spacious, and has a lovely balcony to watch the sun set and star gaze. Whether in your bedroom or down by the pool it's always ocean view and the mountains. The kitchen has top of the line appliances and available for guests to use. During our 5 night stay we used the kitchen/BBQ our last day to make lunch and dinner. Breakfast is prepared by Yami, who also made our room look clean everyday; she's a wonderful lady who only speaks Spanish but was able to understand my English requests. The walk to a private beach is minutes away.... but we rarely went, we enjoyed being poolside. Randy is helpful host and makes you feel at home... the power had gone out and my friend and I were walking back in the dark, Randy was waiting for us with his flashlight and gave us flashlights to use! Randy has a few driver's set aside to use, so convenient... and will give you a cellphone with their phone numbers programmed... so the drivers are literally a button away. To get into town is a 10 minute drive away, or maybe a 30 minute walk, but we would rather get a ride; Randy dropped us off in town a few times. He loves to make suggestions. We're all glad we listened to him because we had two of the greatest excursions (canopy adventures and playa de coco beach)! I did something to my neck and was in a bit of pain/discomfort and Randy's wife Brenda worked on my neck... she was real good with massaging out the knots... my vacation would have really sucked with a sore neck... her office is right at the house, so convenient. My other favorite of Casa Del Soul is cho choo..I miss him already! Definitely will recommend to anyone and everyone and if I'm back in SDJS this is without a question where I'm staying!! Thanks Randy

This was our final location of 3 during our month stay in SJDS. Each place had strengths and we found Randy's place here to provide the best secluded/private experience with views not found in the city or south hills. The daily breakfast was a great aspect to start the day and full kitchen make other meals and poolside fare. Staff is friendly and Randy is very helpful with itinerary ideas and execution. Taxi fare is terrible but adds up, after dark in particular. Quite a walk into town so car advised. We really enjoyed pool time and walks on the rocky beach with awesome house dog. Great place for a romantic getaway and larger groups in our opinion. Would definitely return. Thanks Randy and your staff!

Thanks Paul for your review. It as great having you here. I think you meant to say " Taxi fare isn't terrible, but adds up at night" The taxi is 6 dollars during the day and 8 dollars at night. I give all my guests cell phones with our taxi drivers on "Speed dial" There are not really any taxis at night and my guests can call our drivers anytime for a ride. Some guests walk in one way and take a cab back at night. I give a lot of rides to guests when I go to town, which is at least 2-3 times a day.Rental cars are expensive here,so all my guests have the option of deciding if it is easier and cheaper to take taxis and shuttles to the beaches or rent a car. A regular taxi will be at least 10 dollars to my place and more at night, but Alex and Camilo, our drivers, always give my guests a deal. All my guests love the privacy and quietness as well as the the private beaches right below the house versus staying in town with all the noise...Thanks, Randy

Spent 3 nights at Casa Del Soul after 3 in town. The views from our room and patio were amazing. Full kitchen if you want to cook (we did grill the fish we caught), pool, great breakfast cooked every morning by Yami. Short taxi ride to town. Randy is super accommodating and has great knowledge of the area. Definately going back! Cheers Randy!

We recently stayed at the Casa del Soul just outside of San Juan del Sur, Nicaragua. Our room was well appointed and very comfortable. The view of the bay from our room and patio was spectacular. The bay is a short walk from the Casa, it is beautiful and is almost "private". The pool was good sized and a welcome respite from the heat of the day. There was also enough shaded area, with rocking chairs and hammocks, for those of us who are concerned about excessive sun. The internet connection was solid and reliable, so we were able to remain connected to "the real world" - our choice.
The breakfast (included) was superb, the coffee plentiful and the staff was helpful.
We will stay here again.

I was planning on a surprise trip for my husband's 50th birthday celebration and found the house in a beautiful fishing/surfing village of San Juan Del Sur. You go up on a steep hill near a statue of Jesus looking over the village and his house lies on a quiet lot overlooking the amazing view of Nacascolo Bay. My husband thought it was going to be the 2 of us going to a place but I had 5 other close friends waiting for him to surprise at the house. The owner of the house, Randy welcomed us with a big hug ! Oh. Was he surprised!!! From then on for 7 nights, we fully took advantage of this amazing house. 7 of us comfortably slept with 3 bedrooms/4 bathrooms plus a studio and a huge swimming pool, hammocks, and a lounging area where we hang out everyday! Randy knows many locals and arranged cab rides for us into town which is only 7 minutes away (we even walked down a few times which is a work out on hills but great to burn some fat ! and to see some local houses) . Randy even had phones for us to use while in town so we can call him for a cab etc. Honestly, it would have been challenging to do all that without his help. He and his wife live on the 3rd floor so he was there to assist us anytime. Breakfast was made by lovely girl, Yami every morning so you don't have to worry about it and it was delicious! We cooked dinner a several times in their spacious kitchen buying their local veggies and delicious chicken from a market close by. With Andy's quick responses by email before we got there, I was able to arrange a birthday cake made by a Canadian lady, Heather(passion fruit with coconut cake!) And a guy, Kenny (from Hawaii) who has his own little eatery (wrap&roll) in town came up to the house with assistants made such an amazing dinner for us one night and got to learn more about Nicaragua. That was very special! Prices are really reasonable too! There are at least 4 private beaches you can walk to at low tide. We even saw howler monkeys and so many beautiful birds on the way down. Randy has a watch dog, chucho who is absolutely adorable and loved us all the way. I can't say enough about how great this place was! If you don't want to book the entire house, you can just book a room. Each room has its own bathroom and privacy. Yami cleans the rooms everyday! We couldn't ask for better weather and his house gets great breeze all the time, so you won't even need to use a/c which he has in each room ( and a fridge, too!!) He certainly has experiences in this business and knows exactly what guests need. He's got it!!!! Thank you, Randy for making our vacation unforgettable and we miss the view and the people that we met through you already. . Hope to go back there again soon!! Muchos Gracias! !!

Friends got to rent the whole house which made it seem like the house was ours. The owner was great in helping with arrangements and without his help the trip would probably not been as much fun. He provided phones, arranged transportation from the airport and into town as well as to other beaches. The house is like a fortress so we felt completely safe. The house also has its own water supply so you don't have to worry about getting sick. Randy also provides drinking water which saves having to buy lots of drinking water. The house is a couple of miles outside of town but only a six dollar taxi to get into town. You can walk if you are up for a great workout as it is really steep. There are a couple of beaches within walking distance if the tides allow that are amazing and better than ones that require a taxi to get to. The house is set up very nice, so we spent the majority of our time there, cooking most of our own meals and hanging out around the pool.

The town is fun to visit and the locals are very nice. Very few people trying to sell you junk on the street. Lots of places to eat, from dives to really nice places on the beach. Prices are a bit cheaper than here in the states, but not super cheap by any means.

All in all it was a great trip.

Room Tip: Upstairs rooms are large with ocean views. Downstairs room is very small and with two people it'...

Just came back from a wonderful vacation in Nicaragua and had the pleasure to stay at Casa Del Soul. Our friend rented the whole house as a surprise surprise for her husbands 50th birthday. All in all there was 7 of us and it was nice to have the house and the pool to ourselves. Randy who owns the place could not be any nicer or more helpful. From arranging transportation for us from Managua to showing us around town, where to shop, where to eat and things to do. Yami who works for him made breakfast for us every day, made the beds and cleaned the rooms. She is a wonderful person. Doesn't speak English but we had no problems communicating with her. One night we had a chef come and cook dinner at the house. Kenny, who is from Hawaii and owns Wrap n' Roll in town, came over and made us a fantastic meal. I can highly recommend that for one of your evenings. We mostly used Alex and Camilo's taxis for transportation and that was fantastic. The one time we used someone else it didn't work out as planned. One of the highlights of this vacation was when Alex took us to La Flor beach and nature reserve and we got to watch the turtles come ashore and lay their eggs. Almost like something directly out of National Geographic. There are some amazing beaches within walking distance from the house and we saw some Howler monkeys hiking thru the woods. We walked in to town twice. It's not far but very steep so it's a good workout. All in all it was a fantastic week. Casa Del Soul is very clean and we felt safe the whole time. Enjoy your stay in Paradise!

Room Tip: Rooms 1 and 2 have the best views and share and nice big balcony.
