Rarely one can say I got more than I bargained for.
This is one of those times. Lovely place, clean and well run. My family loved it there. Pool is clean and they have an honesty bar!!
Breakfast is included in the room fare.
Highly recommended.

We ended up here when our hotel booked up! We hit the jackpot would not stay any where else.Pool is great, food was very good. staff were very good most with fluent EnglishI agree the water pressure was a little low but a minor thing..

Room Tip: Think the back rooms would be very quiet. I would not worry however.

I absolutly love this place. It is cozy, neat and very comfortable. I love the combination of colors and the original decoration. The food is amazing as well, and the little store at the entrance just adds a special touch to the Hotel

Comfy bed, excellent breakfast (different daily), helpful staff and a small, but refreshing pool in quiet courtyard.
Also close to beach. Our first stop in Nicaragua and a great start.
Small complaint: poor water pressure, but really a minor issue.

The hotel has a quaint feel, befitting its history. Staff are all friendly and efficient, and the breakfast was very good also. The sitting area around pool was a great place to relax and get out of the sun. This was the 5th place we stayed in Nicaragua and my favorite.

This was my first time in SJDS and I wasn't sure what to expect. Our stay at the Pozada Azul was outstanding. We immediately felt at home. Andy was very helpful and provided us with directions, tips on where to go and what to do, and even gave us coupons for the restaurants. All the staff went above and beyond, and the place was always clean. We loved it and it was worth every penny!

We really enjoyed our stay at La Posada Azul and would have like to stay longer but they were all booked up. There are a total of 7 rooms with rooms 6 and 7 having their own veranda's overlooking the courtyard and pool. We stayed in room 6 - just steps to the pool and to the shaded lounge area with honor bar. It was never too busy at the pool and it felt like our own private retreat! The rooms are not large but there are a lot of nice touches - most importantly, the beds were comfortable! The breakfasts were the best we had in Nicaragua! Each day breakfast started with a platter of fresh fruit, juice and small fresh-baked muffins followed by the breakfast for the day (ie: huevos rancheros, breakfast americano, frittata and the best raison cinnamon french toast! The location was ideal - less than a 1/2 block to the beach!
